My wife and I are in the planning stage of a dual Paris/Disneyland Paris/London trip in May 2012...

My plan at present is to fly into Paris, stay in Central Paris for 2 nights, train it over to DLP for 2 nights, then take the Eurostar over to London for 3 nights...

My question is: Is the regional rail from Paris to DLP able to accomodate luggage? I'm going on abaseline of what I am used to here in the USA and there is very little room for anything more than a roller carry-on bag...

This is just a real basic early question... I know I'll have more to come...

Hi, do you mean the TGV? Its the high-speed train that connects Charles de Gaulle-Roissy Airport and Marne La Vallee train station which is situated between the entrance to the Disneyland Parks and Disney Village.

If so this is at most an 11 minute journey as opposed to about an hour by car and most by other trains.

I used the TGV in March and found it to be very good and handy. You can get on the train and just stand at the doorway with your baggage. Its only a short trip so you wont even notice not sitting down as you watch the countryside whizz by. There are small luggage shelves but we had big suitcases so we just waited in the doorway/corridor on the train for the 8 minute journey to DLP. On the way back we put them on the shelves and sat down as we were exhausted!

Nah, I mean going from Central Paris to DLP, not from the airport...

Hi,

I assume you mean the RER? I'd say it depends on when you are travelling really, we did this on Thursday around midday and there enough space as the train wasn't full. There isn't a baggage area like on a intercity train, just the space around the seats.

On the way back from DLP on Saturday evening it was a very full train and so less room. However, DLP is the start of the line so you have room to get settled and make space for your stuff on the way back (though perhaps you are going direct from DLP to London, reading this again...!). On the way there you should be OK if you avoid rush hours. Having said that there were plenty of people on the busy train with pushchairs and big suitcases so sure you'll be able to squeeze on, even if it's crowded part of the way!
