We will be doing a split stay at AKV/BCV Thanksgiving week. We didn't exactly hope for that plan, but that is what was available a couple weeks ago when we decided to do this. We've been promising our boys (age 7 and 9) a trip back to Disney for five years. Money. I'm sure some of you can feel our pain
Anyway... Here's the current plan...
1.) Sunday (arrive around noon) - Spend entire afternoon at AK, supper at Boma
2.) Monday - Breakfast at Crystal Palace so we can get in early, spend day at MK, lunch at a quick service (if we're hungry), boat to VWL supper at Wispering Canyon, back to MK to watch Electrical Parade and fireworks (probably our only late night and night parade/fireworks)
3.) Tuesday - Breakfast in room, day at Epcot, late lunch/early supper at Coral Reef, supper in room
4.) Wednesday (day we change resorts) - Go over to BCV for early check-in, Character Breakfast at Cape May, to DHS park, lunch in park, if we're hungry, supper somewhere (maybe Yachtsman, Flying Fish, or a spot in DHS)
5.) Thursday - Early morning at MK, monorail ride to Poly for late Ohana Character Breakfast, back to BCV when park starts getting busy (heard it will be a nightmare on Thanksgiving Day), horseback riding (maybe), snack at Beaches and Cream, Thanksgiving dinner at Cape May Buffet
6.) Friday - Early breakfast and head home
I would love those of you who have done this type of split stay to let me know if the above makes any sense at all. I also have the following specific questions...
1.) Can you go back to the same park on the same day without the Park Hopper option? I don't see the need to go to two different parks on the same day this trip, but... If we get tired, I do see us going back to the room to rest and then returning to the park we were at. Can we do that? Park Hopper is going to cost us around $220.00!
2.) We are on the waitlist for a Savannah View at Kidani for those first three nights. We just got on the waitlist. What are our chances?
3.) Will the boys be sorely disappointed if we don't have a Savannah View? It seems like such an amazing option. Points aren't an issue. We have plenty saved up.
4.) Should we waitlist a Savannah View at Jambo too? I thought the second bathroom at Kidani made it the best choice, but... Is the Savannah view special enough to lose the second bathroom for?
I think that is it for now. I tell you. Planning a trip to Disney is a full time job! Where to stay. Dinner reservations. Where we will go when. What rides we'll do when. Money. Money. Money. Yikes!
Thanks to all of you who are willing to give me advice and help me with this. I really appreciate it. I want to make this trip as special as I can for my family. It's been a long time coming
