Hi everyone! I was wondering if someone could tell me what I need to do in order to prepare for a planning session. Do I need to already know what kind of cake I'd like to have, etc...? And what sorts of questions do I need to keep in mind or think of ahead of time so I can better prepare and make the most out of the planning session, especially since I would be traveling out to town to Disney? Also, does Disney offer only one planning session? How much time will they spend with you? I feel really clueless and was hoping for some insight from all the Disney brides who have done this before. Thank you! :flower3:

Hi! To answer your questions...

Do I need to already know what kind of cake I'd like to have, etc...?
No, but it's a good idea to bring lots of pictures of your ideas so they can see exactly what you're going for.

And what sorts of questions do I need to keep in mind or think of ahead of time so I can better prepare and make the most out of the planning session, especially since I would be traveling out to town to Disney?
They will go over the entire wedding day with you from start to finish, so that will give you a chance to formulate questions. You might also want to keep a running list of questions that come up between now and your PS so you can have it handy.

Also, does Disney offer only one planning session?
In general, yes, but I have heard of people going for multiple sessions to get everything nailed down. However, the majority of brides do one session followed by lots of phone calls and emails.

You don't have to set everything in stone at the PS - there is still plenty of time to change your mind or add things later. It's just nice to get what you can done when you are meeting your planner face-to-face. :)

How much time will they spend with you?
The planning session itself can last from 2 hours to more than 4 - it just depends on how much you need to go over. A tasting session can last from 1-2 hours (and you need to specifically request it if you want one). A site visit can last 1-2 hours (also something you need to request).

I just had my planning session on Monday. I brought a binder of images/magazine pages with me, although I had already emailed those images to my planner who had passed them on to the florist. They said I was far more prepared than most, so any ideas or images you have would be a great start. I had no clue about center pieces aside from peacock feathers and they came up with a whole bunch of ideas which we discussed for a while. My session started at 9, the florist showed up a little before 1, and our tasting session (in a different place) was at 2:30. So, along with a visit to the photographers, we had a full day. It's a bit overwhelming, but remember that they've done this a lot and have a very reliable checklist they go through with you.
