We were all wondering when you would wake from your meds and take a look-see!! We celebrated for you!!!!:thumbsup2 :cool1:

Yeah - we know! We've been trying to tell ya!!!!!!! :rotfl:

:lmao: I haven't had Vicodin in 2 days, so I'm out of my drug-induced daze...

DisneyBride, tell your DH I am just naturally graceful...

Fancy shoes (not heels though!) + wet outside + tile floors = a fractured elbow

The Olive Garden has been awesome though, their insurance will basically cover anything that comes out of my pocket - even though it was not their fault at all.

DH and I are also hoping for a free "breadsticks for life" card...;)

I haven't even shared my Olive Garden Tile Dance on there, in case I have a lurking reader...I better do that!

Thank you for celebrating for me and thinking of me!! I'm VERY excited to have my tag!!!!!

03-30-2008 - I am Bionic Woman

Last Saturday I went to a near by City to visit with friends and attend a baby shower. My DH decided, while I was visiting with the ladies, to eat dinner at the Olive Garden. Around 10:00 pm I came and picked him up, Henry was asleep in the car and DH came out right away and joined us in the car. But, because we had quite a drive in front of us, I decided to run inside and use the restroom.

Well, outside the snow was melting and I was wearing some fancy-schmancy shoes so between that, the Olive Garden's tile floor and my great sense of balance, I ended up making QUITE the entrace by my feet going left and my body going right and was quickly sprawled all over the floor. The manager and waitstaff came running over to help me and I was given the World's Largest Ice Pack. Meanwhile, my husband and sleeping baby are still in the car...

I can move all my fingers, my wrist and my arm - everything hurts, yes, but it is movable. So after about 15 minutes I head back out to the car and we make our drive home. (Now on top of all this, my DH is legally blind, so he can't drive-so that means, me and my giant ice pack are making the drive!)

We get home and I'm still in some serious pain, but I'm exhausted and the next day was Easter, so we had quite a day planned with family and all that, so we get in bed and both crash. About an hour after we were in bed, I rolled over, forgetting about my arm and was jolted awake in PAIN! I could not find a way to rest my arm that was not painful, so eventually I gave in and got out of bed telling DH I was going into the ER.

Long story short, we woke up Henry (who was giggling and happy at 2 am!) and spent a couple hours in the ER. Two X-Rays were taken and sure enough, I have a fractured radial head, which is a bone in my elbow. I was wrapped up in a splint and told to come back in a couple days so the Orthopedic Physicans could look me over.

That Tuesday I headed back in and got to see my X-Rays, which was pretty cool, found out I would NOT need surgery and was outfitted with a brace. The brace is very techy looking, so that helps me cope with it, as I'm a bit of a techy geek. (Okay, more than a bit).

My nickname at work is Bionic Woman. (zhuh, zhuh, zhuh) (in case you didn't figure it out, that was the Bionic oman sound!)

I'm pretty sore, so my DIS time is more limited, but I'm still here!!! :flower3:

Just got caught up.

Again, so sorry about your arm. I'm glad your doing better. How did Easter go?

Love, Love, Love your tag. Congratulations!

Don't give up hope of getting the "official" tag. I think the Tag Fairy is going to wait until you earn that t-shirt first! ;)

Hi Jaime Sommers:) Where is Oscar?!:rotfl2:

You mean this guy?

;)

:flower3: Sorry about your fall and injury!

I  all of Henry's disney training!

Thank you! And welcome back! I am enjoying your TR so far.

Easter went great-hung out with the in-laws. Henry now loves dogs! He totally ignored my in-laws dog all the many times we have been over there, but at Easter he kept reaching for him and petting (or grabbing...) him. It was very cute!

You didn't have to wait long Blu!!!!!! Yea!!!!! :yay:

03-31-2008 - Baby Notes

Well, I have scoured the DIS quite a bit, and gotten advice from several of you out there and I would like to compile my list of "Advice on Taking a 1 year old to Disney World"...this will be a work in progress!

  • Vitamin D milk can be hard to find-goats milk/organic milk is impossible on property-use grocery delivery service if you must have these.
  • Use small bottle cooler to carry milk around with you during the day so you don't have to buy all the time in the parks.
  • Buffets make easy plate sharing.
  • Bring your own stroller
  • The baby care centers are very useful
  • In general, babies do very well with the characters
  • Let your child sleep until the last minute in the hotel, then feed them breakfast on the bus (something easy and to-go), this will help them last longer in the parks.
  • Play by your child's cues-some kids need a real nap back in the hotel, others are fine with the stroller nap.
  • Table restaurants will pack up your food if your child is having a meltdown.
  • At Magic Kingdom, try to hit Fantasy Land in the early AM
  • Bring snacks for them in the parks
That's all I can think of right off the top of my head now...I am sure there are things I took note of that I will recall later!

43 days until I make our ADRs! :woohoo:

I realized the other day I will be in NYC at the time, so I have to be sure to bring all that info with me and have it ready and my cell phone charged.

They should be releasing EMHs for November soon....then I get to do more organization and figure out our days! :yay:

And, I still want to find/ask for designs for t-shirts/onesies for Henry and us.

And, I have to figure out our detailed budget-how much for each category of our trip-such as tips, extra food, gifts, Magic Makers, etc.

Oooh, and before I can make our ADRs, I have to figure out where I want to offically celebrate Henry's 1 year and our anniversary and give DH a suprise cake for our anniversary! Did I mention on here I wanted to give him a special cake? I found the cake thread and decided that I have to give him a cake-he'll be so surprised! I was at first thinking one of those mini-wedding cakes, but for the same price you can get a big cake-so I'm going the 'big cake' route. I have to do a bit more research as to the bakeries and my options before I decide.

And speaking of DH and surprises...his birthday in in just 10 days and I have organized a dinner for us and friends at a very nice place in Minneapolis called Ichiban - it's a Japanese Steakhouse, he knows we are doing something, but has NO clue where! He'll be SHOCKED! He has eaten there once and he loved it. I'm super excited to take him there! (and eat there myself too!!!)

And before too long, I want to do some more Disney Training-haven't gotten much done with me being Bionic Woman and all...;)

Plenty to fill the next 223 days...:guilty: sigh...seems sooooo far away! At least I have a lot of adventure planned to fill the days up quickly!

I recommend getting a cake for at Crystal Palace. The one I got for DH was yummy!

Here it is, it's black because it was for DH's 40th.

Love the cake! Very cute-the black is great!! We aren't eating at Crystal Palace (as of now), but I wonder if I can get the same bakery... Can I ask how much it was...? What was the filling?

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Amazingly, I knew who Jaime Sommers was (I'm Hollywood stuid!) but was sooooo LOST on the Oscar comment! I can't say I've ever seen the show...but everyone at work keeps making the zhu zhu zhu sound at me as I pass them in the halls!

It was $33.00, the filling was just boring frosting, DH is finicky, I've seen what looks like a fabulous strawberries and cream filling on the cake thread. The cake was really good and we didn't even eat any of it until two days later.
