Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

Our service was FAR less than great. Our waitress acted like we didn't exist the WHOLE time, and the food was semi-warm. And we didn't want to waste more time there so we didn't say anything about the food. We waited SO LONG for our entree we didn't want to have to wait longer for them to redo them. :( BUT maybe your experience will be better! Keep a positive attitude about it. My DH and I have decided that we like Citricos MUCH better. It is located inside Grand Floridian main building (next to victoria and alberts). Service was AWESOME and food was delicious!!!

I didn't forget about the picture of the cake. I am still trying to dig it out of our "junk" room, where I keep all my scrapbooking supplies and what not. I really like all your choices for the bathing suits. I think they are all very cute and I would wear any of those choices. It looks like Miguels Groom shirt fits well too. I am always so nervous about ordering from online as I never know what size to get. Your valentines day set up looked great. We celebrated on Saturday too as both my husband and I had to work. Just was less stressful. Glad you guys had a happy V-day and I am looking forward to more updates. The day is drawing near!!

I like the bathing suits you picked, the colors are pretty.
I HATE bathing suit shopping b/c I can't find anything that supports me. I'm not big, I just need something to pick the girls up lol. Last year I ordered 3 suits from Lands End :lovestruc I love them!!! I've gotten so many compliments on them too, they were all 2 pieces, but not bikinis.

Bathing suit shopping is never fun. :sad2: It sounds like I need to check on Lands End! Quite a few people are mentioning it. :thumbsup2

Everything looks so pretty!!! I really like the hair style you picked out! Its very pretty. And I love the car!

How far out did you book your officiant. This is my current stressor. I don't know if i want a Catholic priest who will marry outside the church, or an officiant and I feel we are getting closer to the date (a little over 5 months) and I haven't figured it out yet.

Thank you! :goodvibes We secured the officiant mid-January, I believe. So, about 5 months ahead of time. We went with someone that we knew (he actually married my parents), so I'm not sure what the process would be as far as vendor. :confused3 I think you still have plenty of time, though!

I love the yellow Bathing Suit, I am just to old to wear such bright colors now :lmao:. If you are considering Land's End you can go online and register. They will send you codes for percentages off frequently (Yesterday was 20% off everything site wide). LOVING the wedding plans and decision making, while hard, is also fun!! SO many details!

Haha! There are definitely some bright colors in there! I think I will go sign up with Lands End - it sounds like their swim suits are really great.

I'm starting to worry I'm going to end up forgetting a detail! There is just so much to think about!

Oh no! Sadly, I've heard a few reports like that. I really hope Narcoossee's has improved. We basically chose it for the menu, as a lot of the options there are more appealing to us than at some of the other signatures. Although, that isn't going to do us much good if the food is bad. :sad1:

I can't wait to see it! :goodvibes I'm always nervous ordering online, too, but I've been doing more and more of that these days because I'm so busy and don't have the time to get to the store!

SWIMSUIT UPDATE

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for all of your great suggestions for the swimsuits - I'll definitely be checking out the places that you mentioned! :thumbsup2 In the meantime, I decided to go ahead and order a suit from the site where most of my inspiration pics came from. When I was browsing before, I didn't even think to check out the sale page. I ended up finding a tankini top there that I really liked that was on sale for $29! Here's what it looks like:

I love the colors and I think it will fit very nicely into my tropical theme! I also ordered a pair of the skirted bottoms in the aqua color.

I got the notice today that the order had shipped, so hopefully I will have it in a couple of days and hopefully it will fit!

On Sunday, Miguel and I had some errands to run at Target so we decided to run through the men's swimwear section. We ended up picking up these two suits for Miguel:

They both look really nice on him and fit well. Oh how I wish I was lounging at the pool right now! :cloud9:

I love the bathing suit top!!! If you don't mind me asking where did you get it? I am currently looking for something that won't leave the tan lines and it looks like those are removable?

Those are some very wise words! Very true, I'm sure! :goodvibes

I love the suit you picked! Very tropical and fun! And good job on finding the sale :thumbsup2

Love the swimsuits, both yours and Miguel's. :) Oh how I wish my fiance would wear more than just black clothes.

I think Randy has both of those bathing suits you got for Miguel. :thumbsup2 The one you picked out for you is totally cute!!! And $29 :banana::banana:

love the bathing suit!!! yay glad you found one! and for such a great price as well!!!

Love the bathing suit! Very tropical - perfect for the Poly :cool1:

I'm a little behind on your PTR, but I wanted to add in some thoughts about Narcoossee's. First of all, I LOVE IT THERE! It is such a gorgeous restaurant (very romantic!) and the food is phenomenal. The service was wonderful as well. I had the filet and it was one of the best steaks I have ever had in WDW. My sister and father both had the surf and turf and they loved it. Everything was so fresh and cooked perfectly. At the time, the seasonal dessert was strawberry shortcake - it was the most beautiful dessert I've ever seen (and the taste...yum)!

You'll love it there!

Thank you! I got it online from a store called Hepari. They have a lot of really cute tops - most of them are tankinis if you like that style. :thumbsup2 I thought the straps looked removable too! I just got the suit today though, and they're not.

Thanks! I was very proud to have found the sale page! :lmao:

That's how Miguel is with blue! I'm slowly trying to introduce more colors into his wardrobe, although you see what color the two suits are! :lmao:

Can't beat $29! :woohoo: How funny Randy has the same suits!

I am so glad to hear you loved Narcoossee's! I've been reading so many bad things I was starting to get worried! You've got me really excited to eat there again, though! Thank you! :goodvibes

Okay here is the BIG question...Are you going to model it for us??? (If you do, you are FAR braver than me). :worship::worship::worship:

Haha! I'm definitely not that brave! I promise to share pool pics in the TR (after a few more months of the wedding diet!) :lmao:

WEDDING DETAILS - PART SIX

I'm pretty sure this is installment six of my wedding details posts. I really hope you don't mind all of the wedding talk as we get closer to the date. I feel like my mind is constantly flipping back and forth between wedding planning and disneymoon planning, and right now, I'm honed in on wedding details!

I wanted to share with you all a few more of the details that we've decided on since my last post! One of the big decisions we've made concerns our ceremony set up. Since our ceremony will be in the ballroom, there is no alter (or stage), and the ceilings are very high. As I've explained to my family, I was worried that we would look like we were just standing in the middle of an open field! I felt like we need a sort of artificial ceiling to bring the attention away from the lack of a traditional alter.

I originally thought about a floral-covered arch, but when I looked into the price, I quickly changed my mind. (The quote was over $2000! :scared1:) Another option I found was a fabric-covered chuppa. Even though chuppas are traditionally used in Jewish weddings, I really like the symbolism behind it and I think it will look beautiful in the ballroom. Here is the one I found on etsy that I am going to order. It comes with the fabric, and I will have my florist do two bunches of flowers for the front corners to dress it up a bit. (The pictures shows lights on it as well - we won't be having those).

We also found our guest book and pen! I originally planned on doing one of the photo books that so many people do now with their engagement pictures, but ultimately I decided that might look a little too modern. I found a more traditional style that I loved and had to have. I ordered it last weekend, so hopefully it will be here soon!

Sitting on the table with the guest book and pen will be the card box. Once again, my first idea of making my own card box didn't pan out. The pre-made one's that you can get online seemed pretty expensive to me and I figured I could easily make one on my own. But when we started to price out the cost of materials and the time, the pre-made prices seemed more reasonable. Plus, I found one that I just fell in love with, and I knew I would never be able to duplicate it.

I love it! We're going to order this sometime in March.

Instead of doing the traditional sand or unity candle ceremony, we have decided to incorporate a Mexican wedding tradition (I believe it's used in some other countries as well) to honor Miguel's culture. We will be having a lazo ceremony, which occurs after the bride and groom have said their vows. A lazo is placed around the shoulders of the bride and groom in a figure eight, representing the symbol for infinity. Most lazos look like rosaries since this is primarily used in Catholic ceremonies, but I wanted a different look. I found this floral lazo and thought it was just beautiful.

We'll also be doing an arras (13 gold coins) presentation in the ceremony. This is another hispanic tradition that represents the groom's pledge to the bride to take care of and provide for her, as well as him giving her all of his worldly possessions. After the ceremony, the coins become a family heirloom.

Tomorrow I'm finally going to finish my honeymoon diy project that I mentioned a while back so I'll finally get to share that with you all. I also hope to start working on my trip binder soon. I hope you're all enjoying your weekend! :goodvibes

What a cultural experience your wedding is going to be! My parents had the ropes at their wedding. We actually did none of the traditional "joining" ceremonies. I think that might have set the tone for our marriage. Our families are definitely not unified in any way. :rotfl: That card box is beautiful. I made a treasure chest for our wedding (in our colors but still a chest) for a little fun element.

It's definitely going to be an experience, but I'm really excited about the added elements. Our ceremony is going to be bilingual as well since Miguel and I speak both Spanish and English to each other. I just want to make sure it represents us as a couple, you know?

This chest sounds neat! I love when people do things that aren't so cookie-cutter. I think it's really nice to add personal touches. :thumbsup2

My fiance is Filipino and they also have the cord and the coin tradition (as well as the veil). Come to think of it, it might come from their Hispanic background, as the Philippines were invaded by Spain a long time ago. We won't be doing any of those though, as it's both our second wedding and Ron wants something more simple.

Like you though we will be having a bilingual ceremony as my family speaks French and hsi speaks English.

I love all of the touches you're including in your wedding-- it sounds like it'll be a really personal, cultural ceremony. The guest book is gorgeous-- when I saw it, I totally thought of your beautiful Christmas tree and beautifully wrapped presents! It'll be a lovely piece in your home!
