Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

Phew. I just spent the last few hours reading your entire PTR. :)

I want to say, your wedding dress is GORGEOUS! :lovestruc

I love your idea of pre-planning every day outfits and packing them seperatly. Even though I pack up the same amount of tops and bottoms, I always end up with a few pieces that have nothing to go with, and my luggage is a mess. Can't wait to try your idea on my next Disney trip. I don't think I will need it as much for my destination wedding, since I'll mostly be wearing bikinis. :rotfl:

I love the Mickey bridal ears. I'm currently waiting for mine to arrive in the mail. The shirts also look awesome, I'm very tempted to buy those.

I know you said that there is no way you will try the body slides at the water park. I just wanted to say that the ones with mats are actually often some of the tamest slides. My stepDD (10) who was afraid of water on our Disney trip really quite enjoyed them, mostly because she felt "safer" than on regular body slides with no mats. The one in your picture only has a few inches of water at the end. I hope you reconsider it. But even without those, there are lots of fun things at the water parks. Hope you have fun there. :goodvibes

I'm sure I had more comments, but I didn't write them down so I forgot.

On my way to reading your November trip report. :cool1:

I love your so VERY organized itinerary. I just started making itineraries in MS Word. I love using the text boxes and adding images. :) You're renting a pool cabana? How fun! I already know you're going to love the Wishes cruise and I can't wait to hear about the new information you learn on it! My biggest suggestion to you is to remember that it is your honeymoon so don't overdo it! If you guys just aren't feeling the parks, don't feel bad about going back to your room to rest or just laying by the pool!

Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for all of your sweet comments! :goodvibes

The slides with the mats don't sound too bad - I will definitely keep those in mind!

Thank you! I go a little overboard if you couldn't tell! :lmao: I learned about the pool cabanas on the tikiman site! I was so excited to learn about them. I figure after a week in the parks we are going to want a day to lounge by the pool. When we went over to the Poly for dinner this past trip we got to see them. They look really nice! :thumbsup2

I think we're going to be ok on the taking it easy. I'm currently thinking we'll end up spending about 3 or 4 hours at the parks in the mornings and then spend the afternoons relaxing in the room or at the pool. Even when we take shorter trips we never stay in the parks past 2 pm, so with this long trip we should have no issues heading back to the Poly for some relaxation. :goodvibes

wow now that's a WDW spreadsheet! ;) you've used my favourite colors too hehe :cutie:

Usually our planning spreadsheets are in that much detail.. but for honeymoon, all I have in each day is our ADRs and any tours/spa reservations.. it looks so bare  lol ... we will be doing a Hollywood Studios rope drop day, because we love running around and getting the 'big three' done in the 1st hour :thumbsup2 .. but generally it's going to be very relaxed; helps to have structure though as June/July are busy summer months in WDW! :cloud9:

I'm going to be looking out for you two on June 27th in Epcot! :wizard:

Wow, your Disneymoon is going to be so amazing, your itinerary looks great! :cool1: I only had 4 and half days at the parks for our Disneymoon, so we had to run around like crazy people on ours, we had no time to just hang out and relax! :rotfl:

Your plans look AMAZING! WOW, what a trip you're going to have! And you have totally inspired me to put all of my next trip's plans into a nice excel spreadsheet :)

You may have already mentioned this, but how far in advance were you able to book your Wishes Dessert Party?

haha omg!!! your itinerary is so detailed!! mine is basic because i needed to plan my ADRs...

i'm so jealous of your organization skilllzzzzz!!!

Looks like the perfect schedule-- I think you have a great mix of downtime and "different" things. I can't wait to hear about the Wishes Dessert Party-- one thing we really want to do but we're not sure if it's worth it.

You itinerary looks amazing!!! :goodvibes Good job! :thumbsup2

Thank you! :goodvibes

Great Epcot day and super spreadsheets! :goodvibes

Thanks! :)

The spreadsheet colors are very important! We aren't too serious about following along with the "schedule", but I would feel so unorganized without it! It's like a security blanket. :lmao:

I really hope so! We're getting so excited! :woohoo: I'm really looking forward to the relaxation time. It's difficult to do that at Disney when you're trying to get everything done!

The spreadsheet is a lifesaver! :worship: I actually haven't been able to book the dessert party yet. :rolleyes1 I'm hoping that they will offer it.

Thanks! That's what I'm going for - a good mix. :thumbsup2 I hope we get to do the dessert party. I don't think it's being offered for sure yet, so it's kind of in there as a place holder for now.

CHANGES?!

I should have known that I would end up changing my itinerary! After my last update, I've been doing some thinking about one of the days that I'm not completely happy with. It's my full DHS day. Right now, I have us planned to be in the park all day. I know I've said this a million times, but we are not all day park people. We need that break in the afternoon. So why then, would I schedule a full day in our least favorite park?!

We'll that's where my dellima occurs. I am determined for us to see Fantasmic on this trip, since we've never seen it before. So, we have a 4:00 ADR for the Mama Melrose F! package, so obviously we're going to need to be in the park from about 3:30 until closing. The problem though, is that I really want for us to be able to do TSM. We finally did TSM on our last trip and loved it. To do this though, rope drop is probably a necessity. I just can't imagine us staying at DHS from opening to closing, and I don't particularly want to wake up early just to do one attraction and then come back to the resort. (This is our only full DHS day, btw. We are doing evening EMH on our first night, though.)

So, I was doing some rearranging, and I've re-worked our DHS day and our mid-trip half day at MK. Here's what I've come up with:

DHS Day

Before on the left, after on the right.

MK Half-Day

Before on the left, after on the right.

Basically, I've moved our Spa day from the MK day to the DHS day, and dropped the rope drop idea in favor of an additional day to sleep late. What do you think, it is better to (most likely) miss out on TSM in favor of some more relaxation time???

I'd never be able to do rope drop all the way to the end of Fantasmic without a break in between, so I think your new plans look great! You never know, maybe the standby line for TSM won't be too bad and you can just wait! :confused3 This TSM madness is getting out of control, it's annoying that you have to stress out over ONE attraction when planning your days! And that if you want to ride it with a minimal wait, you have to participate in that stampede! I wish they could figure out a different system! :thumbsup2

I love TSM, but with that said, this is your honeymoon. I think you should definitely factor in some days to sleep late. It should be a relaxing trip!

I think you know yourself best-- and that you won't want to spend the whole day at DHS! And who knows-- you could get lucky and there may be FP's left at TSMM!

I'd say that you should definitely move the spa to the DHS day. At DHS, you won't feel the pressure to hurry from one attraction to the next, as it is your least favorite park, and any attractions you do go on would just be an extra bonus! Just make sure that you won't regret it later in the trip. OR-If you do, you can always go back on an open day/time and ride TSM! :) It's your HONEYMOON, relax first, play later!

I don't think we would make it either. Normally the longest we can go is from RD to 3:00. :sad2: TSM is so stressful! I think DHS needs another big attraction to take some of the people away from TSM. It's definitely sad that you have to plan your whole day over that one attraction!

I think you're right - as much as we loved TSM, sleep might just win out!

Maybe DHS will be realllllly empty that day! :lmao: That's true thought - we need to build the day around what we like.

I like that - relax first, play later. That makes so much sense! :goodvibes

you know I'm all for more days to sleep in ;) :thumbsup2

I had a feeling that might be your vote! :lmao:

A TOUR & A TO-DO LIST

I have decided to add a tour to our Disneymoon itinerary! I decided to do some research into the various tours offered one day, and I definitely felt the pull to sign up for one! I asked Miguel what he thought, and we both agreed that the Around the World at Epcot Segway tour sounded like the most fun to us! When we went on our day trip to Epcot recently we spent some time walking around Innoventions and stopped by the Segway area. It looked like so much fun!

So, I called this morning and booked the tour! We de decided to go with the 8:30 time on our first Epcot day (Tuesday, June 21). I figured the 8:30 time would be a nice compromise between not wanting to do the tour too early (like during the 7:45 time) and still wanting to get started in FW before it gets super crowded (like it would be if we went with the 9:00 or 9:30 times). We were also able to save 15 percent on the tour with our APs, which equaled about $30 in savings. :thumbsup2 We’re really excited! Here’s what our itinerary for the day looks like now – not too much of a change!

I also spent some time recently developing a to-do list of all of the things that need to be accomplished before the trip. I am definitely a list person, and having my to-do’s laid out for me makes me feel more organized and in control!

Here’s what needs to be done before we leave for Disney:
~ Book pool cabana (6/27 – all day)
~ Book massage @ GF spa (6/26 – 12:00)
~ Finalize itinerary & create daily strategies
~ Create a food budget
~ Work on trip binder
~ Stock toiletry bag
~ Purchase room organizers
~ Purchase new swimsuits, pool shoes, beach bag & towels
~ Luggage tag project
~ Pre-order PP CD
~ Buy new memory card(s)
~ Buy new tennis shoes for Miguel
~ Start shopping for clothes

I'm sure there are other things that will pop up, but these are the things that come to my mind right now. We're almost at 4 months! :woohoo:
