I know that this thread will probably get moved but I just wanted some input from my DVC family about getting around the "world" after a double bypass. My sweet DH had emergency surgery last Thursday (he had an artery that grew wrong from birth). He's doing great

BUT...

As all of us Disney maniacs he was concerned with the fact that in 4 months we have our first trip home planned. I told him that since we are going to be there from 12/25 till 1/1/05 we had already planned for a "leisurely" visit, to see the decorations and have dinner (PSs still to be made)...Other than that we are going to go with the flow...

We are staying at SSR with a rental car...I think we'll be just fine.

Of course talk to the Doctor, but I suspect walking will be a choice recommendation by the Doc for cardio rehab (depending on his general health) and there's no better place on the globe than 'The World' for that!

I hope he continues his good recovery!

I hope your DH has a speedy recovery and that you thoroughly enjoy your first trip home!

good luck and have fun
glad he has those 4mos to recupe before your trip

(Im having minor surgery (I hope) next Wed and leave for Disney 4wks later)

get a wheelchair from the hotell - so if he needs to seat - he can not a problem - it will also be good for him to push the thing when he doesn't need it. these wheelchairs are free. you can fold them up for easy access on the buses - unless he does need it - then the bus has the elevator that can bring him up.

since you have the wheelchair you can bring some things - more water that type of thing - that can get pretty heavy if you put it your backpack - but the back of the chair makes it easier to bring.

oh you might have to pretend that you need the wheelchair - male ego - or female ego for that matter - mother refuses one until I have knee surgery and had to have one - helped me greatly but mother decided that since I wasn't using it - I was pushing it - she needed it - since that trip she has excepted that a wheelchair is necessary....
