Planning one day at Universal

I'm trying to plan a day there August 8! I'm prepared for it to be busy, but I can manage. Is it best to visit WWoHP during the morning, or does it calm down later in the evening?

Any other ride strategies I should know? I'm definitely interested in riding Jurassic Park and Spiderman.

one day at IOA and Universal in late June. Staying on site, we had early entry. The wait was about 25 minutes when we got there and about 45 minutes when my son and I got immediately in line again. It was posted as 75 minutes when we got out that time. That was around 9:20-9:30. The good news was that the Dragon Challenge was almost walk on except for the front row.

We headed back to Islands of Adventure after a few hours in Universal. In the last hour or so of park time the ride wait was posted at about 25 minutes. I went through the single rider line twice in about 20 minutes. Most of that was the walk and the ride. The first time I waited maybe a minute to board when I reached the line.

Help me out everybody, but doesn't the Jurassic Park restaurant stay open until the park closes? Its a good counter service, not Mythos, but its pretty good, much better than typical park food. And there is also Confisco Grill in Port of Entry, but I am not sure when it closes.

As someone else said, City Walk is just right there outside IOA, so you will have a ton of choices there, Margaritavilles is one of my favorites, although it is more casual dining, but great nachos and burgers.

i think it depends on the season you go to the darkside.

i go in october and crowds are low.
some of the cs places start closing up 30 minutes prior to park closing.

i have been there to that one in JP where they started closing up 15 minutes prior to park closing.

but, there weren't many guests around the park at that time.

if you are going during a busy time, i am guessing that places do stay open until the park closes.

You're talking about Thunder Falls Terrace. Most places end food service 30 minutes prior to park closing.
