Do the rooms at the HardRock have a refrigerator? When I go to Disney I always buy milk and cereal and me and the family (spouse, daughter 10, son 5) eat breakfast in the room.

Can anyone direct me to a good thread on Universal Restaurant / Counter Services reviews?

Let me if there good eats to be had during my trip to Universal in January....:cool1:

no fridges at hrh unless you rent one.

they have a minibar but i don't mess with that.

once you get the key or access to it, you can be charged for anything missing out of it.

lots of threads present and past on food places in the forum

I brought a small collapsable cooler with me and ziplock bags for ice. We got milk, yogurt, cereal and fruit for breakfast. We also bought bottled water and some soda. Cooler worked out great for us!

Sorry, I can't help you with the counter service meals as we ate mostly sit down.

I would take a few things out of the minibar if you need to. I've always done this at hotels and have never had a problem.

My recommendations for counter service restaurants would be: Louie's at the Studios and Thunder Falls Terrace at IOA. Both are excellent! :thumbsup2

$7 for a quart of water-$10 for a beer--I stay clear of the minibar!!
Roomservice is cheaper!!

I think they meant they take the minibar stuff out so they have the space in the refrigerator for stuff. I'm leaving tomorrow for HRH, and I've requested to rent a fridge - I didn't realize that there was a minibar. If I were traveling with 4 people, I would seriously consider club level - it includes breakfast (continental, I think), plus soft drinks all day long (even water bottles for the park), and wine/beer and snacks for the evening, maybe even some kind of light meal at dinner, plus bedtime snacks. For 4 people, it might make financial sense to do it.

Interested in any comments on this as I am planning our first trip and thinking the same thing. Any comments would be appreciated.

We just returned from HRH and the only frig is the mini-bar. You need a key to get in. One of ours (had two rooms) was unlocked upon getting into the room and we called and had them come empty and lock the mini-bar. My suggestion is don't touch it since on two previous trips we have been charged for items we didn't use. We never take the key but I have been charged twice in the past on my cc for $35 and last year for $62. I have called and they have taken it off but this time we had it noted on both rooms that we were not using the mini-bar so this couldn't happen again. I would take a soft cooler or just buy a cheap styrofoam cooler.

Also interested if others consider going to a club room instead of purchasing a meal deal?
