I was just wondering what is the etiquette when hosting a Disney wedding. I know your wedding can be whatever you want it to be but for the guests do you always have some sort of welcome dinner or gathering? and what about a farewell breakfast/ brunch? How does it work if you have guests staying at 5 different hotels? Sorry I know its a lot of questions. Thank You

We only had a rehearsal dinner and dessert party aside from ceremony and reception. There is really no proper etiquette. Do what you want and can afford. Guests will be happy just to be at a Disney wedding. As far as 5 different hotels, depending on if they are on/off property and where your ceremony is, you may have to provide transportation through Disney. Otherwise, guests will have to find their own way to location.

Don't feel obligated to hold any events beyond the wedding itself. If you can afford to add a welcome party or a farewell gathering and want to do it, go for it. These don't have to be expensive catered events, either. You could have folks meet up for a casual "drink around the World at EPCOT" event or Dole Whips at the Polynesian or bowling at Splitsville or a barbrcue at a vacation home.

But don't forget that this is a vacation for your guests, too, and they may not want to have every minute of the trip filled with events.

As for transportation, if your events are not inside a theme park, you aren't required to provide transportation by Disney. But if your guests are not Disney experts, it can be a nice thing to do. If you pay for an hourly charter, it can go around to all five resorts, but that means some guests will be on the bus for a long time. You might want to send multiple smaller forms of transportation out to smaller numbers of resorts. Page 147 of the Fairytale Weddings Guide lists all the different types of private transportation and their prices.

Guests who are staying off-site can make their own way to the Wedding Pavilion parking lot to meet your transportation.

My guests stayed on site and I had a bus pick them up at the resort(s) they were staying at to take them to the wedding and reception. After the reception we went to Epcot for a dessert party in Italy, all of us on the bus. Went we got to Epcot, we went thru a gate and the parade was going on, just at the end and they escorted us out onto the end of the parade route and we followed the parade all the way to Italy. It was very cool! Parade, dessert, fireworks.....it was amazing. I had gift bags in guests rooms upon arrival. We had a rehearsal dinner at the Polynesian but when they had the show. Everyone loved it. My Mother surprised me with a bridal shower at GF (I was living in California at the time and my family lived in NJ).
