I am in the planning stages of our trip. We are leaving soon, and I have had very little time to research this. Our plan lands in Orlando at 2pm, we are traveling with a wheel chair, we are taking the "Magic Bus" to the hotel. Then my plan was to go eat dinner and walk around the boardwalk shops. Then trek over to FT. Wilderness for the campfire and watch the electric water parade.

My question is...Am I planning on fitting in too much in one evening? Is this reasonable?

We are not "Sit down" dinner people, but much rather get carry out and sit on a bench and people watch.
I can't find the times for the campfire. And i don't know if there is a bus/ boat that goes from Boardwalk to FW....

Any help would be great.

You can check the FAQ in the camping board for more info on the campfire but here is some general info.

In the winter months the campfire sing along starts at 7pm with songs and a visit from Chip and Dale, the movie will start around 7:40. The Chuck Wagon sells kits for smores and I think some snacks. To get from any resort to any other resort(except monorail resorts and Boardwalk area resort served by the boat)you must use a park or DTD as a transfer point. So for you, MGM then the bus to FW would be best. Once you are at FW though you will need to use internal FW buses to get to the show, Yellow or Orange Settlement would work. I think all the paths to the campfire are mulched so keep that in mind with the wheelchair. There might be one path that goes by the pool that is paved but my memory isn't clear on that(I never really paid attention).

After you check the FAQs if you need anyother help just ask.

How much time would you allow to go from Boardwalk to FW to make it to the campfire? Does the movie end about the same time as the water parade starts?
Then going back to All Star Sports hotel, are we talking a bunch of bus changes? Is it worth it??

I love camp fires and sing alongs, but only if the group is into it. Are the CMs really into the campfire or is it mellow and people just pushing to get a good roasting spot?

Thanks for your help. We are looking at being there on Jan 24th. Do they have a site where they post the movie schedule?

The movie schedule is posted on the camping board, depending on the movie it may or may not end in time for the water parade. Gettting from one resort to another always(except monorail resorts and epcot boats) requires you to use a park or DTD to transfer, so yes it can mean 3 buses. The CMs on stage at the show are always very into their show, so no worries there.

Here are some pics of the area

Personally I don't think you have enough time. If your plane lands at 2, it could be close to 4 by the time you are on the bus/checked in etc. So let's say you immediatly go to the Boardwalk, that's 4:30-5. Eat, walk around your easily at 6:00. You have to take a bus to MK then the boat to FW. That is cutting it really close.

If you do want to do it, I think the easiest way to get there would be to take the Bus from Boardwalk to Magic Kingdom. From there you can take a boat over to the campgrounds. Then when you leave take the boat back to MK and grab the Pop bus.
