Next June, it'll be time to think about my next "me and Aunt Jen only" trip with my nephew and I'd like to get your thoughts.

Friday: Arrive around 11am. Do the few things at IOA that I think he'd do
Saturday: US
Sunday: SW
Monday: revisit US/IOA favorites. After lunch, move to WDW resort
Tuesday - Friday: Disney Parks
Saturday: Noon departure

So, what do you all think. It'll be just us two. Mid-June. He'll be 9 turning 10 on our trip and HATES rollercoasters & heights. Three years ago he went to all 4 Disney Parks with his family and then a year later, spent a WHOLE day at MK with me, his cousins, aunt & uncle, grandparents and sister. I already know he really wants to do the 4 Disney parks again, but I thought it might be fun to visit US/IOA, too.

Do you think we'll have enough time? Just trying to figure out what's doable before I offer it to him.

Cheers!

I would try to get to the parks as early as possible. It gets hot and busy very early in the summer.

If you are staying on site at Universal and will have fotl, I think your plans look great! You will have plenty of time to see and do what you want. If you aren't staying on-site, it maybe a little harder.

Based on my experience, if at all possible, if you're staying on-site @ Universal (FOTL), do it first before WDW.

Otherwise, you'll be in for quite an adjustment when you're back to the FP system @ WDW.

Good Luck & Enjoy the Magic.

Thanks, I was going to stay onsite at Universal. As I don't drive, I only stay on-site, whether it's Universal WDW. My other nephew and I stayed at HRH in January and I loved it, even though we didn't do any parks.

Am I correct to assume that there's not a whole heck of a lot to do for a 10-yo at IOA if he doesn't like rollercoasters? Will a half a day be enough?

Cheers!

Depends, there's lots to do, I avoided the coasters & had a great time. Is it heights or speed he doesn't like...if heights, he probably won't like Dudley or Jurassic Park or Pteredon Flyers (really different ride). You can spend time in the JP area w/exhibits; don't forget Posiden's Adven & Suess Land. If he wants to try an "easy" coaster, the Unicorn is fun & smooth. Good Luck.

Well, my last "outing" with him was Hershey Park in June. We ended up going off by ourselves because after him nearly crying and trying to escape the line for the Coal Cracker log flume (his mother's choice to have him go), all the others wanted to do the coasters and I couldn't see him being made to sit on benches just so we could do the coasters. After he got off the log flume, he said it was ok, but wasn't sure he wanted to do it again. In the end he did what I call "carnival" rides, like Dumbo. We did go on the HIGH Ferris Wheel, and he did ok, but was still a little freaked out.

Thanks for the input. Gives me something to think about.
