Planning another magical 5th birthday

Thanks! I wanted to ask you about your shoes. You said you used acrylic paint. What kind did you use? And what kind of brushes? I am trying to decide if I want to try paint for the next ones and I was thinking of getting a bag or something to practice on. But when I was looking at paint and brushes I was at a loss as to what would be the best kind for shoes. :confused3 I am a little worried that the Sharpie won't hold up as well.

Haha I just answered you over on my Tr! I order the paints to sharpie though bc sharpies do tend to bleed a little and paint doesn't, and I make mistakes with paint and they're easy to correct with more paint!

Ha. And I asked over there because I figured you wouldn't see that post on this report in the middle of others. Thank you so much for your help with this. I am going to try it. I really like the shoes I did but I would love to go over them again with paint to make them brighter I think and to try some new ones with paint. :thumbsup2

So happy for you!!!

They had two shipments of Elsa ones come in last week! Can you believe that!? and not one of anna!
We were in the mall Friday night and I walked in to check and every single elsa had been purchased so they go so fast. But she said hopefully this week they would get in some anna dolls!

Unreal!!! It was No one can find the elusive Elsa.. Now it's abominable Anna!
Crazy!!!

I just ready your 2-week TP and it was ahhhmazing! We are also going to WDW in November 2014 with our 4-going-on-5 year old and I'm excited to copy ALLLLLL of your ideas on this pre-trip report!

Yay!! Do you have a pre trip report?

Like many others on these boards, I have a box in my house that I toss Disney things into as I prepare for a trip. Last time I did big welcome bags in our rooms and then little gifts each day. I didn't do Disney things in the car on the way because they didn't know where we were going yet.

This time we are flying and I am going to surprise the girls the morning before our flight. So, I want to fill their backpacks with fun Disney themed things to do on the flight to Orlando and the flight back.

I have decided not to do the whole welcome bag thing but I will probably have a few things to put out in the room and then I do still want to do the 'pixie' gifts while we are there.

Because of all of this I started gathering things in my box as soon as my DH Doug gave me the go ahead to call and book.

I didn't realize how much I have already gathered until yesterday when I emptied out the box to take pictures!

I have bought everything at Walmart, Target, and Dollar Tree and the only things that have cost over $1/$1.50 are the two big color wonder sets.

We are staying at the same resort 11/10-11/16!!! It never crossed my mind to put Shout wipes in my little girl's backpack for the plane, great idea! Are u guys taking a stroller this time? My Aubrey is a little younger than Maddy (3mos), I wonder if she'll need I it.

:thumbsup2 I really liked Pop. It isn't as fancy as some of the others and the rooms are pretty small.. but it was perfect for us. And our girls loved it.
We are going to take our little umbrella stroller this time. I thought about doing the big double stroller we took last time so we would have more storage. But then I decided I would rather have the convenience of something smaller and easier to get around. Our 8 year old should be fine. Maddy doesn't ever use a stroller anymore but it is a lot of walking at Disney. And there might be times when we want to go faster than her little legs will carry her... so yeah. We will take our umbrella.

Wednesday we went to the mall to pick up my Hot Topic order (I had it shipped to store so I wouldn't have to pay shipping.) and decided to stop in the Disney store to check on Anna dolls rather than calling.
We arrived before opening and were just hanging out when a man that works there (I wish I remembered his name!) opened the gate and approached the girls.
He asked if they would help him open the store because he needed some magic.
He dressed Abi up like Sorcerer Mickey and gave Maddy a little Tinkerbell wand.

They tried a few different magic words and nothing was working. So finally he asked us all to help him say the magic words on the book.

The girls loved doing this. And then he gave each of them a Mickey Mouse lanyard for helping.
:cool1:

Unfortunately there were no Anna's in... but it was still well worth our time.

Awwww! How cool! I never knew they did things like that! Love it!

Ummmm where the photos of your hot topic order?!?!?!! ;)

I didn't take any pictures! :scared1: But it was just some Ninja turtle loom bands.
I had no idea they did that either. It was so much fun to have a surprise like that. Some Disney magic.

Last weekend we watched the Muppets. It was the one from a few years ago. None of us had seen it yet so we were really excited to watch it.

We made Miss Piggy in blankets, Fozzy Bear Fries, It's not easy being green (and brown) Chocolate Kermits, Swedish Chef's fish, and Gonzo grape juice.
It was all very fun!

For the activity the girls decided they wanted to draw the Muppets characters.
Maddy made a "Muppet Book".

The first page was Kermit (with Beaker in his pocket):

Of course, Abi changed partway through to drawing My Little Pony instead.

We had fun but I have to say I didn't love this Muppets movie as much as most of them I have seen. We really enjoyed the Most Wanted one when we saw it in the theater a few months ago and felt this one paled in comparison. But, it was still fun to watch a muppets movie!

Cute movie night! How funny, I really enjoyed that one and didnt care for the newest one, lol. :rotfl:

:rotfl:That is funny! I don't know what it was about Most wanted ... maybe the cameo by my Tom Hiddleston. :goodvibes
