Planning another magical 5th birthday

oh.....tom hiddleston.....oh, sorry, what was I going to say? oh right, I love the drawings the girls did! I love the muppets! and, I am in the same boat. loved the newest muppet, not crazy about the older one.

I know, right? I looooooovvvvvveeee him.

Doug is in Seattle at the Dota2 championship (a video game that he plays. It is a HUGE event for it) and my mom decided to come over and hang out for the weekend.
We spent the afternoon watching the last few episodes of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and I decided to try to paint my first pair of shoes.
The shoes I did a few weeks ago for the girls I did with Sharpies. And I really wanted to try acrylic paint to see if I would like it better.
I decided to test it out on an old pair of stained and unattractive white sneakers. I wanted to make some Doctor Who shoes. I got some ideas from a few pictures on Pinterest and got to work.

They are far from perfect as I was learning the ropes... and I know a few things I will do different next time.. but I really like the way they turned out.
And I can't wait to wear them at Epcot!

Thanks! I started out with Christopher Eccleston. It took me a few episodes to get into it. But I love his episodes now. But I do think it just gets better and better as it goes along.

Doug is not playing. He is watching teams from all over the world play. I WISH he was playing. The winning team goes home with over 5 million!

I love the Doctor Who shoes you did. Those ones were amazing. I knew I would have to go simpler for now but I am really happy with how they turned out.
It really IS addicting! I have a few more pairs lined up in my mind for the girls but now I am also thinking hmmm.. what else can I make.

Apparently having Doug out of town allows me to get a lot of projects done.
I saw a pair of shoes on Pinterest that had jewels glued onto them and it sparked my interest.
I have been thinking about what I would use for shoes for Maddy after her BBB appointment.
She originally wanted to be Sleeping Beauty in the blue dress but has recently changed her mind and says she wants to have Cinderella's blue dress. Thank goodness it is the same color so I can still use the fabric I bought!
When I saw the shoe I thought that maybe that was the answer. I could paint some regular tennis shoes and make them look like glass slippers so they would be fancier/ match her dress but still be comfy.

So, today I painted some shoes really light blue and then added glitter all over them. Then tonight I glued on a ton of glass jewels.
The result is a little more bedazzly (is that a word. ) than I was going for. But when the light hits them right they look pretty cool.

I think they will look good with her dress and I'm pretty sure she will really like them.
I still have plans to do Frozen shoes for both girls, Sofia ones for Abi, and Minnie Mouse ones for Maddy. After that I *may* try to make myself some Beauty and the Beast stained glass ones but I haven't decided for sure on that.
And then I will probably try to stop making shoes for a while. It is so addicting.

That's what I was thinking. Last time Abi had fancier shoes and that was the only time her feet actually hurt.
