We are taking our daughter on a last minute trip in a month to celebrate her graduation from boot camp. We have not been since 2013 before Magicbands. We wanted this trip to be more relaxed and not planned to a "T" with every minute listed on the itinerary for the day. With the magicbands and being able to reserve fastpasses so far in advance now I feel that the planning is even harder and more important than before. We've went with suggested itineraries for our trips but we didn't always stick to it other than grab fastpasses as soon as we walked in for certain rides. Can this still be done? Can fastpasses be gotten the day of? We haven't even decided or looked at the touring plans sites yet to determine which parks we will go to on which days.

you can go to the kiosk to select your FPs but the most popular ones will likely not be available. I would log onto your MDE and look over the rides and pick away.

I suggest planning 3 rides (FP) in advance (as soon as possible) and then take the rest of the day at your leisure. You can even get a 4th FP after your ride your 3rd FP..if you like. It does take a little planning, but it still maximizes your enjoyment. When I go for work (all adults), I plan 3 FP and let the rest of the day fall as it may. Very relaxed and enjoyable.

Can someone tell me if one is able to book fastpasses WHen you order your tix on Disney site but are having them mailed instead of will call.( There is a Disney room booked, and ordering Tix separately).
Or does one wait until tix received via postal to set up f/passes?
DME app set up and room reservation is linked. Thanks. I just realized I hijacked thread a little... Thx OP

Just use the site or even a third party ticket seller and choose Will Call. As soon as you link the ticket numbers to your MDE, you'll be able to book FPs when your booking window opens.

You don't need the actual tickets because your MagicBands provide the link to your ticket entitlements. So, no reason to pick up at Will Call - just link the numbers when your ticket purchase is confirmed on the site or through the third party.
