Planning ahead for October 2008, questions

It's never too early to plan, right?! I'm thinking about going early-mid October 2008. Is that always the time of the Food and Wine Festival and MNSSHP? We'd like the MK to open later and we are interested in day and night parades that are different from the ones we've seen during the holiday season. If I book one of these weeks, October 4-11, 11-18 or 18-25, is it pretty much standard that we'll be able to experience those events?

I'll want to book at our home resort, BCV. Will I need to call day by day for a two-bedroom villa ? This will be our first time booking at the 11 month window so I'm already nervous . Thanks for your help!

Mid October will be right in the middle of the Food & Wine Not so sure about MNSSHP schedule..but I believe its a few nights a week for the whole month of Oct...so your bound to catch a date..Maybe the Planning link on at the top of this website will have dates from 2006 to compare?

We reserved our first trip to BCV for last week of Oct 07. I got a 2 Bedroom dedicated with 2 Queens in 2nd bdrm. I did do day by day although I'm not too sure I needed to. It was very easy to do and it gave me piece of mind that I would get what I wanted.

I guess I was nervous for my first time too.

The dates for 2007 are: September 14, 21, 28, October 1, 4, 5,9, 11, 12, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 26, 29, 30, 31

Thanks for the link and information! Now I just have to figure out if they have late hours and fireworks/night parades that month. Otherwise, it looks like it should be a great time to go with the F&W and MNSSHP. Wish I were going this year! That's what I get for only having enough points to go every other year!

They usually run Spectro twice a week in October. Late hours is usually MK til 9:00 - but we've been there when they've announced at 3:00pm that the park will remain open until 11:00. Remember that the MK will close at 6:00 on MNSSHP nights for everyone but those who have tickets to the event.

Avoid Columbus weekend if you can - its gets really crowded.
