Hello everyone

I am heading to DLP in late March for 4 nights/5 days.

Booked at the Santa Fe (same price as Cheyenne but I just couldn't do the country thing)

I am travelling alone, but that's not my issue- slight background I did visit DLP in March 2012, only for the day and tried to see both parks.... since then my laptop was stolen and I lost all of my pictures from that trip (part of the incentive for me to return) I've also done Disney in Hong Kong (2010 October) and WDW and the other parks in Orlando (last visit 2002). I am trying to hit them all!

I had one heck of a time getting my package booked online since I am a Canadian who lives in Egypt.... and when I tried calling their booking line no one ever answered (and yes it was during operational hours)

Anyways, I have my package booked, happy with the price, and got a great deal for a flight.

Now, I booked the transfers with VEA when I did my package booking but I just had a thought that I can't answer....how do I prove I paid for a ticket?

now I haven't printed any documents yet, so if it's obviously on the letter that I was emailed and told I had to print, great..... but if not?

Also anyone who has stayed at the Santa Fe, advice? room suggestions? Can I walk to the Disney village? is it an okay walk from the parks late at night?

Anyways I'm really excited, and enjoying these boards and have been reading some trip reports. Thanks for all the help!!

I shall be staying at the Santa Fe at the end if march also! We have stayed here before and its not worth upgrading your room in my humble opinion. The walk to and from the village is nice and relaxing and safe! It's only 10 mins i would say.

Hope u have a great time!

We'll be staying in SF too. We arrive on very last day in March for 6 night stay. Looking forward to our trip! I also didn't upgrade the room.

The Santa Fe is a nice walk along the river with a choice of wide, well fenced, well lit concrete path or more narrow, tree lined, bumpy path which is less well lit and is on the unfenced side of the river. I would not recommend the second path at night in the snow as its a bit of a trip hazard.

At night in the winter, walking back along the river alone can be a bit creepy because you might not see anyone at all but in my experience it has always been safe.
If you don't like the idea of walking on an isolated path at night on your own you could take the bus.

When at the Santa Fe check out the UFO by the river.

I don't particularly recommend the restaurant for dinner very much more fuel than a dining experience.
Book for the early breakfast and get there early for a more comfortable experience. If you get up late you can still eat you will just have to join the queue and an early start means extra magic hours.
If you want a cooked breakfast you can go to for the Disney Land Hotel for around 14 Euros or book Cafe Mickey.

There are no kettles in the rooms but you can borrow one (I think there is a fee). There are usually only a couple of sockets available for chargers, hair dryers etc so a gang socket is a good idea if you like gadgets.
Basic supplies such as wine and UHT milk can be purchased at the petrol station shop just by the hotel main entrance.

The Wardrobe is not tall enough to hang dresses or long coats so an over the door hook or similar might be useful.

Don't expect too much. The Santa Fe is a cheap budget hotel which is abused by its guests. Think travelodge/Days Inn but with hundreds of hyperactive kids visiting. The rooms take a lot of punishment, that said the new theme is nice and if you have any problems complain ASAP as they usually get fixed quickly but the house keepers will not notice them.

I think people who expect too much usually are disappointed and that colours the whole trip. I would hate to pay summer rack rates when the demand is high and so are the prices. This explains why there are so many poor reviews for this hotel.

Have a great time.

@chicken - this is a brilliant tip! We will be there in february and I will definatly take some of these to hand our coats up :-)

Thank you so much for the information so far!

I have no real high expectations, I just knew I wanted to stay on the Disney property for the EMH and to make the most of my trip. I have been to Paris before, and this trip is solely for Disney.

I am thrilled with the price I paid for my room and for my flight, and as long as it's clean, comfortable and has towels I will be happy.

Definitely going to check out the grounds for the UFO!!!

Do the windows in the rooms open?

Does anyone know about the VEA transfers and how my tickets will show up if I prepaid for them with my hotel booking? That is one questions nagging at me.

see at this point I am getting nervous about the VEA shuttle I know I booked and paid for.

It is not showing up on my package/booking thing.

I also have no real desire to call because last time I wasted so much money for no one to pick up the phone (in Cairo, Egypt at the moment, calling places sucks)

But at this moment I have no 'proof' that I bought them...

anyone else purchase VEA shuttle and have this issue?

anyone have the contact information for DLP via email? (couldn't get that to come up on the site either)
