Hi everyone! My husband and I are trying to plan a family vacation for next August that will consist of 10-15 people. We considered who would be willing to stay together (ie grand villa, 2 br, etc) and are pretty set on BCV (our "Home") will one grand villa, one 1 bedroom and 2 studios. As far as the grad villa is concerned it will be my DH, DD, and DS and my Aunt and Uncle and their 3 kids....all 5 kids are ages 3-11yrs. Has anyone been in this Grand villa before. Would we be comfortable will 4 adults and 5 children?

Has anyone ever planned a gathering this large? Any advice?

I can't wait......our last Disney vacation was June 2003 Western Carb 7 day Disney Cruise and 5 days at All star movies after. That is when we became DVC members!!! Can't wait to plan our next Disney cruise...Kids had a blast .....maybe in 2007.

Any responses would be most helpful!

Thanks,
Sam

Grand Villas are available only at OKW, BWV, SSR, HH and VB.

BCV and VWL do not have any three bedroom villas. If you'll want/need a GV, you may need to exchange points with an owner at one of the other resorts so you can try to reserve it 11 months in advance. GV's are not always available at 7 months.

Good luck- sounds like a nice gathering!

2 bedrooom not grand villa at BCV, BW is the one with the Grand villa.....

OK, now I'm more confused than ever (not a rare occurrence, mind you.)

If you're asking whether a single 2B will comfortably hold 4 adults and 5 children, the answer is probably not. The maximum occupancy for a 2B is 8 + one child under the age of three. So unless one of your children is under 3, you can't all stay in a 2B under the occupancy guidelines.

Looking at this from the standpoint of comfort, a 2B at BCV has one king bed in the master bedroom and one queen bed in the second bedroom. Assuming that the adults will take the beds, that leaves you a sofabed in bedroom #2 and a sofabed in the living room for 5 children. Doesn't sound too comfortable to me, but I guess it depends on how you would define comfort.

I have to research this alittle bit more now!

One will be 3 years old on our trip.

Pet, in three days, we're taking a group of 10, spread over a 2Br and a studio at BWV. I'll let y'all know how it goes. We are SO pumped!

For our gathering of 13 we are using 3 - 2 bdrms. We considered many options but felt that this offered the most privacy and configurations of who-sleeps where. Also the BWV 2 bdrms are much cheaper in points than the GV, a consideration because we are covering all lodging costs. Good luck!

We just returned from our Grand Gathering with 14 people and we used 4 studios at BCV. There were 9 adults and 5 kids (13, 12, 11, 5 and 4 years old). This was the only way we could accomodate everyone for the amount of time we wanted to stay with our points. We planned two group meals and the fireworks cruise(which was cancelled due to lightening:( ) We were pretty much in the same parks on the same days but we did not stay together. We did an E-Ride night with the families with kids so that the kids could ride the rides together. We also all met up for Fantasmic! and various family members met up at different times for the parades, Wishes and Illuminations. Everyone had a great time!! Good luck with your planning:D
