Not me, but a good friend. She wants to plan a family get-together at WDW next year. She loves BWV (doesn't own DVC and no, I'm not renting them points). There will be about 15 or so of them, and she really wants to keep them in one unit if at all possible. Not sure exactly what the age breakdown is but there are one or two very young (under 3) going.
So.....my question...is a grand villa at BWV the best bet, or should they be looking at OKW possibly? I'm not sure if they should be looking at a grand villa plus a studio even. Any thoughts out there?? And can they in all reality expect to be able to rent a grand villa through CRO??
Thanks guys for any insights.

You are almost never going to see a GV through CRO, and you will probably never see one of the BWV GV's. Since 15 don't fit in a GV, she's either going to need 2 rooms, or go offsite (something like a house rental).

That's what I thought. Perhaps she should just get two two bedroom villas if possible. I suggested staying off-site but they really want to be on-site (can't say as I blame them). Thanks for letting me know though. I thought that might be the case.

I'm doing a family reunion for 12 in December and we have two 2-bedroom villas. I'm thinking that's even a little tight. For 15 people, you're really short on space for people to have any privacy.

I don't know what options they are considering, but I would strongly suggest that they book through CRO, rather than trying to rent a ressie from a member. There are just too many ramifications to cancellations of a point ressie. With a group that size, there is a high probability that someone is going to have a cancellation issue, and they are way ahead just doing it the old fashioned way.

The other suggestion I would make is to give each family a separate room. The hypothetical concept of having everyone in one unit is romantic and all, but the reality is that everyone needs some space and privacy.

They are going to book through CRO. I told them that was really the best way for them to go. Since it's only the one set of grandparents (who are paying) and three sets of kids and their families (2 adults and 2 kids, 2 adults, 2 adults and 5 kids) the two 2-bedrooms should be okay. They actually enjoy being in each other's faces it seems!!! Not for me though.

If they truly want to stay together and there are at least 3 under the age of 3, I'd say an OKW GV is the best bet because of the space and options. The laundry room alone in an OKW GV is big enough to put a crib or two in. If there are less than 3 under the age of 3, I'd get 2 2bedroom units.

We have ressie for a 2bed Villa & 2 studios in Nov, DW & our 11month old (at that time) and myself will be in the Master Bedroom, Our 10 & 12 year old on sofa bed, And Bro, SIL, and their 2 boys in second bedroom (dedicated). For each set of grandparents I reserved a studio.

Nov 8th can't come soon enough!

For our wedding next year, we're going to be booking studios for everyone. We'll only be having 18 guests, maximum, so we're looking at 5 or 6 studios (my mom will probably stay in her RV at Ft. Wilderness) - and of course a lovely 1 bedroom for me and the ol' fiance.
