I want to plan a 10 day trip to OKW for next June. We will most likely purchase AP's and finally go to a water park, but for those of you who have gone that long, what do you do? Maybe a day at Universal?

Thanks - Diane:thumbsup2

We put away the commando mentality and enjoy the WDW experience at what ever pace we feel like at the time. :woohoo:

I think a little side trip to the spa would be nice followed by a little shopping excursion in DTD.
Maybe a night at the movies (outdoors).
Hugs --plan away it's so much fun:)

On longer stays we have done dedicated pool days, at our resort as well as others such as Port Orleans FQ. Also, an offsite shopping day at some of the outlet malls has been fun. Downtown Disney offers so much, that a day can be fun there also.

We have also fit in Seaworld on occasion but not in recent years. So nice to not have to rush through the parks and rest a bit as well. Lucky you!

Most of our trips are in the 9-10 day range. I agree that putting aside the commando touring is a good idea. If you are early risers you can still take advantage of morning EMH if you like, but maybe only every third day or so?

We tend to sleep in, and our itinerary is flexible. As Carol noted, we tend to put a day of pool/lazing in the middle of the trip. We also go to Sea World every trip and have done Universal and Busch Gardens from time to time.

The only planning I do on these trips is to find out which parks have EMH and avoid the morning EMH parks during the day and the evening EMH parks in the evening, unless we're planning on participating in EMH.

Good luck with your planning! :)

Most of our trips are around that length also, and we do indeed go to the parks each day. The difference is that we don't feel compelled to do them commando style. We might take in a park until noon, and then head back to OKW to enjoy the resort until later in the afternoon. Then we usually head out for our dinner reservation and hit one of the evening parks. We also like to visit the other resorts, so we often have our evening dining reservations at places like Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Contemporary, Grand Floridan etc. We sometimes will just go to a park to see one specific attraction or even t as well. We often will just go t o AK for the Safari and a quick ride on EE or to Epcot just for Illuminations. Some days we hit all 4 parks. The funny thing is that when we return, we always think of something we "forgot" to do that trip! It's amazing how much more relaxed you tour WDW when you do a long DVC trip.

We spent 10 days at OKW in '05 and I think that it's my favorite vacation at WDW so far.

We spent three days in the parks, 1 day at TL, and 1 day at Seaworld. Here's how we spent the rest of the time:
Boat to DTD
Rented a boat
Spent time at the pool
Relaxed on the balcony and watched the coming and goings of the resort
Visited a variety of resorts to check out the decorum
My dd got to participate in activities at community hall
Watched the rain from the comfort of our room

We had a relaxing time with just enough Disney!

Enjoy your trip!

On a longer trip, other relaxing activities are playing miniature (and regular golf, if that's your thing), and renting boats/kayak/canoes from various resorts or DTD. Most of them have them and it's a wonderful way of spending a few hours! :thumbsup2
There's also horseback riding at FW. :goodvibes

We usually hit the parks hard the first 4 days (one each) then we leisurely go back and forth between parks during the day, taking advantage of the monorail, boats and ferry.

If we missed something the first 4 days we will go back one of the remaining 6 days and catch up.

Epcot is wonderful for relaxing and watching outside entertainment.
