We are hoping to do the Mexican Rivera Disney Cruise this summer and thought since we would be in CA we would do DisneyLand. Can someone give us some tips as to where to say and how to plan for a short two day stay. We could do it either pre or post cruise. We would be on the August 3rd cruise. Thanks for any info or tips.

Read HydroGuy's tip thread & advise the following & you'll get alot of advice:

- Specifically what days are you considering (days of week & dates).? It makes a big difference on what to recommend.
- Where do you like to stay at WDW?
- How old are the travelers?
- Will you Commando (get there at ropedrop)? Or do you prefer to smell the roses? Somewhere in-between?

Have fun planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

We could do either a Friday and Saturday(pre-cruise) or a Sunday and Monday (we would get off of the cruise on Sunday morning). We have done several Disney cruises but have only been to WDW twice. We stayed at the value resort at WDW and we were okay with that. It will be me, DH, DS age 16 and DS age 3. Thanks!

If you are used to Value or Moderates at WDW then you would probably enjoy one of the nice motels on Harbor near the crosswalk that are a 5-6 min. walk from the gate. (BW, Camelot, Tropicana, Fairfield, &/or Hojos or Candy Cane a few steps further.). Also, given your available days (& your visiting in early August), I would recommend the Sunday / Monday option as opposed to Sat. / Sun. (But be up & ready to go Monday morning though.) Weekends at DLR are much more crowded.

One additional thought. Consider buying a 3 day park hopper (instead of a 2 day) & stay Sunday & Monday night & enjoy DLR a half day on Tuesday (prior to flying out). You'll get EE on Tues. morning (because you bought a 3 day parkhopper), & 2 1/2 days is MUCH better than 1 1/2 days.

Also, I believe the 3 day hopper isn't much more than the 2 day hopper.

Perhaps someone else can provide what Harbor motels are costing on a Sun/Mon in August?

Have fun planning (& read all of HydroGuy's & MaryJo's stickys at the top of this page). :hippie:

If I had a choice I would do Sunday/Monday.

We stayed at the HoJo on Harbor when we went in November. It was a great hotel with a nice pool, and we were able to get 50% off with the entertainment rate. :thumbsup2
