I wanted to show you guys our planned scheduled for our May trip and see if you locals or frequent visitors would recommend changes:

Saturday, May 28: Arrive SNA 10:16, check in at HoJo's hope to be in the parks by 12:00 at the latest

Sunday: Knotts Berry farm

Monday (Memorial Day) Trip to LA to visit Warner Bros. Studio, Hollywood sign, Rodeo Drive, Mann's Chinese Theatre, and other sites as time permits

Tuesday-Friday: Disneyland/DCA

It will be tough not spending Sunday or Monday at DL, but as it is a holiday weekend, and possibly a large contingent of locals, I wanted to miss as much of the crowds as possible. However, since we will be at Knotts only one day and that being on a weekend, would you suggest subsituting a Disney day for Knotts since we will have more days to take in the rest of Disney?

We are going to be there pretty much the same dates except we leave on a Sun. Also staying at Hojo!! We are arriving probably late on Sat 5/28 so not going into the parks that night. But we are choosing to do the parks on Sun and Mon as opposed to the following wknd as the new rides are opening then and we are going to take our chances w/ memorial day wknd. I guess AP members are blocked that wknd, except for the highest category (can't remember the name). Of course, we'll have Tues-Thurs that week as well. We may go over Sat. night or Sun morning 6/4 or 6/5 if we need to finish anything up.

We're hoping for a soft opening of Little Mermaid.:thumbsup2

Have fun whatever you do!!:goodvibes

W=Can you just imagine how nuts it is going to be that first weekend in June with the new ride officially opening? I'm just hoping for some soft openings during the week so we can ride them rather than have to wait 2 hours when they are officially open.

BWT we're in the rooms with a Disney view, so we might see each other there. We will be a party of ten, probably not too hard to miss.

Hope you have a magical trip as wellºOº

Personally, I find Knott's thousands of times less fun than Disneyland. If anything, I might want to take another day in Hollywood or maybe to the beaches! Walk around Third Street Promenade or head down to San Diego for a day (Coronado Island off San Diego is wonderful!).

Knott's just isn't up to par with the type of crowds and crowd control. Lines are often long and uneventful (probably even longer on these weekends!) and the food is just blah.

But if you have thrill seekers in the family I can see why Knott's has some appeal :) Magic Mountain might be even better, but I know that has a longer drive than literally 10 minutes from your hotel.

To answer your question, though, I would say I would do Knott's on the weekend to get it over with and I know their hours are somewhat shorter on weekdays. Trust me, you'll like Disneyland on a weekday more than Knott's :)

HAVE FUN!

As long as you are cool with most of the entertainment being reduced Tue/Wed/Thu then I am sure you will have a blast!

We're in a kidsuite. But we'll be down at the pool probably everyday for a break so maybe we'll see you there!!:)

We will have 4 teenagers who love thrill rides, and while not a teenager I love 'em too. We had considered MM but since we will not have our own car, we ruled it out.

I'm keeping a watch on the park hours/entertainment, and since no plans are set in stone, if there are things we would miss entirely if not in the parks on certain days, our plans can easily be adjusted at this point.

I think that is the right approach. The likely scenario will be no Fantasmic or fireworks Tue/Wed/Thu that week. But they probably will show over Memorial Day weekend including Monday, and then on Friday June 3 (which, BTW will be slammed with crowds because of the ST2 and LMAUA opening). Once you see the schedule and you can adjust your days around if necessary, that will be perfect. For others who do not have flexibility on dates, they are the ones who often miss out.
