Day 5 - Wednesday 17th October.

The day of meetings!

Today was a great day - I met a freind off the Dibb and then loads of friends of the Dis too!

We had an early start - I had a Keys to the Kingdom tour booked with a friend off the Dibb and had to be at the Magic Kingdom by 8.30am so we were up about 6am.

We dont often get to the parks that early - there was hardly anyone about - the place was empty

Heres Bev - my Dibb friend.

The tour was great - I wont go into too many details so as not to spoil it for anyone doing it but it was well worth the money and 5 hours of fun.

I met Neil and Ellis afterwards at 2pm as planned and we did some rides together. It was really quiet in the parks - most rides had no wait!

The updated pirates is brilliant

Just a bit of info I learned on the tour - the person who carved the head for the Jack Sparrow is the student of the guy who did the Walt and Mickey sculpture in the centre of MK infront of the castle (see photo of Ellis above).

And then we watched the parade

We then caught the disney bus to Martha's vineyard in the Beach club resort for our 2nd meeting of the day.

It was great - I must say I was a bit nervous about meeting everyone but I needn't have worried - they were all lovely and welcoming and we were soon chatting like old friends.

Let me introduce you to some more of our group - we call ourselves the Konked Koolers -

There was Cass and Rob - it was their wedding anniversary that day
There was Brenda and Jason - it was Brenda's birthday too
then we arrived,
then Chris, Hazel,Jess, Ryan and Rosie arrived too.

We all had a great time........and then another guest arrived............
















Yes! - Planky!
















Brenda pulled him out of her bag - I think I squealed with delight - sad I know but I had been looking forward to being his auntie for ages and when he wasnt there at the start I thought Brenda may have changed her mind. I think Cass may even have taken a photo of me with my arms out ready to grab him

Does Brenda look nervous? Maybe she had every right to be if you had seen some of the things people were posting on our thread about what they intended doing to poor little Planky - have no fear Brenda - Auntie Karen is very protective over her Nephew Planky

I'm so jealous! It looks like y'all had a great time. Now that we are home, I regret not pulling my kids out more days of school and meet up with y'all too. That double dip is looking better and better, huh? After this past week of weather, though, Chris and Hazel may not ever want to be on a ship again!

Ok, where was I?

Oh yes...we were all in Martha's vineyard.........

the story continues..........

We chatted for a while longer then Cass and Rob had to leave - tickets to Blue Man group.

Then Ellis got tired so we had to leave too, so we all said our goodbyes and I left with Planky safely in my bag

Ellis was really worn out by now so we decided he would grab him some quick food and head back to the room.

Now,..........have I mentioned yet that Brenda is a real foodie? - you all know that already if you've read her trippies (if you havent read them.. why not?..they're waaaaaaaaaaaay better than this one !)

Anyway, that night she was heading off to the french restaurant to celebrate her birthday with Jason. We were wondering if Planky was also into his fine dining?


Just to be on the safe side we thought we'd better take him somewhere REALLY SPECIAL for his first night with us, so we took him to

DRIVE THRU McDONALDS

hey Brenda! - fine dining for us too!



The queue was long, so Planky occupied himself by taking the car for a spin round the block

Ellis couldnt wait for dinner any longer and fell straight to sleep in the car

Lucky for Planky! - he got to eat Ellis's too!

Earlier in the week we had been to Animal Kingdom and had a go on the fair stalls....do you know the one I mean? - you roll a ball into a hole and the horse/camel/whatever moves along....anyway I won first prize and this is what I won....... Planky and he got on like old friends

That is until dessert arrived and then Planky ate the lot and wouldnt share

5 slices, all washed down with a nice cold beer.



Well, we were all tired, so once we'd prized the spoon off Planky we had a slice each too and then we all went to bed.


Tomorrow - Planky goes shopping, then to MGM!

Plankton loves fine dining and drinking ... but he's a lot like his mommy in that a greasy cheesburger and extra salty fries sure taste good sometimes, too!

One of his (and mine) all-time favorites is Friday night pizza and beer.

Karen, I guess you set me straight. Beer does go with Cheesecake! What was I thinking? Being from Wisconsin, Beer and Cheese are a staple in any local household, even if the cheese comes in cake form.

Day 6 - Thursday 18th October

Shopping then MGM



We woke up to find Planky staring out the window

He commented it wasnt a very good view then got dressed ready for Animal Kingdom

Sorry little guy....been there already, today is shopping and MGM



after a quick rummage through his suitcase

he found his MGM outfit

or should he ditch the hat and go with the autograph book and balloon?

Decisions, decisions



We finally got to Florida mall. We shopped til we couldnt carry any more (dont ya just luv the dollar being two to the pound£ ....erm....actually most of you probably dont )

Once again it was fine dining for us ....in the food court, then we took the shopping back to the room

Planky did rather well for shopping himself!

Then we were off to MGM.

It was a quick bag check and Planky was frisked

I think I made this mans day! - I asked him if he minded me taking a photo - I dont think anyone has ever asked him before - he was so chuffed to be asked!

Thats all for now folks...
