My sister wants to eat at Planet Hollywood when we go to DTD this December. I'm not so sure about it. Can anyone give me some reviews/experiences? Thanks in advance!

We went there last week early evening, didn't have to wait. My mom and I split the Chicken Fajitas and it was pretty good. If I would have ordered it just for myself, I would have had leftovers. It was very busy and loud. I would go back again. We were there in 2007 and it wasn't very good, I think that they have improved it since then.

THe timeline for the Disney Springs development puts a big question mark on what PH will be like in December.

At some point, current plans call for it to be rethemed into a new restaurant called "The Observatory". Presumably this will have it being closed for a few months.

Since the whole Disney Springs development will take about three years, and will go in stages, we just don't know when the Planet Hollywood work will happen.

For the record, I have enjoyed my meals there, but be aware that the place is *LOUD*.

I'd recommend for lunch. There are just to many better restaurants for dinner. :)

Went in February, simply said, there's too many other options.Out of our eight different T.S. meals, it was our least enjoyable experience. It was simply nothing special. Our whole philosophy in chosing restaurants while at The World is to have an experience we don't have at home. Planet Hollywood did not live up to that standard.Just our two cents!

All the reasons above (although I hadn't heard about the 'Observatory' one, very interesting) are a big help! Hmm-I think I might talk her out of it. Any other DTD restaurants I should consider instead?

As PP mentioned, nothing special. To me, very similar food to a Fridays, Applebees, etc. OK, but not great.

If I remember right, if you're staying at a Disney resort you get a $15 voucher to Planet Hollywood. Not sure if that entices you to go or not, but that's why I went a few years back. Haven't been since, but like mentioned before it's nothing special. It's a chain so there's other locations across the country; the service at DTD was better than the service I got at the NYC location, on a side note.

I would only go if you are (like me) a person that wants to check something out at least once before it is gone, get a souvenir and a memory before it is re-themed. Food is good, nothing special.

As for other places - my DTD favorite is Paradiso 37. T-rex and Rainforest Cafe are a fun experience. I hear great things about Wolfgang Puck but haven't been myself.

Take a look at the menus located in the Dining drop down menu and read the reviews, there is a lot of good information there and I usually check it out before I try something new.

I'll give the menus a try, thanks! T-rex sounds like fun. :)

I enjoy Planet Hollywood...but having said that, it's a chain restaurant.

If I'm going to Disney, I'm going to try some of their different restaurants. Start knocking them off, one by one. Try something different each time. I have a Planet Hollywood where I live, as well a Rainforest. I won't be travelling to Disney to eat at either place (even tho I do enjoy both).

We were there a few months ago and I found it LOUD  and while the food was good - the service was very slow. My Dad was just there three weeks ago and said that the service was the same. Slow....... but the food was good. Not great - just good.

I think there are so many better places to eat at DTD that have the same type of atmosphere (House of Blues or T-Rex) and the food/service is better. I say have appetizers/drinks and then move on to dinner somewhere better if you really have to go.

We ate there last month and had a great meal, I agree it was loud though! It's was a very lively atmosphere. Our server was great, the food delish. We are planning to go back in September :)

I agree with the others who say it's okay, but nothing special. I haven't been to the one in Disney, but we used to have one where I live. With so many other places, I wouldn't go there. Unfortunately the only table service place in Downtown Disney I have been to is Rainforest Cafe. The food was good and the theme was fun, but I probably wouldn't go again with the other choices available. One place I've heard consistently good things about is Raglan Road. We're planning on trying it on our trip next year.
