Planet Hollywood or Kona Cafe?

We are a party of 8 arriving around 2:00 pm in February. Wonder if we should keep a reservation at Planet Hollywood or Kona Cafe. Plan on doing Downtown Disney that afternoon/evening. No parks.

We have made ADR at Kona Cafe around 2:30 pm. Assume everyone will be starving after traveling. This option would allow us to sit down and eat, then go to DTD uninterrupted. Maybe pick up dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Express. Then back to Poly for fireworks on the beach.

Or... ADR at Planet Hollywood at 4:45 pm. Would probably pick up a Dole Whip to prevent the kid's starvation!! Maybe swim until ready to go to ADR, assume weather cooperates. Shopping at DTD after ADR. Probably would not make it to fireworks that night.

Have never eaten at Kona Cafe, but have eaten at a Planet Hollywood. Thought it was nothing special.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Can you push the ressie back to get the dinner menu? Are you on the dining plan?

love Kona too...I would keep the Kona meal for when you arrive at hotel. We're usually starving when we get off planes. Seems like we're always on a plane or transferring from airport to hotel during meal times. A nice sit-down meal would give everyone a chance to decompress from the travel and then you'll all be recharged and ready to explore DTD. Like you say, grab a WP Express meal for supper, or even back at the Poly Captain Cook's counter service...you could even grab food there & take it out for a firework viewing picnic on the beach.

Definitely do Kona! Planet Hollywood is ok, but Kona is SO much better!

I would definitely do Kona. Planet Hollywood is just so-so but Kona is amazing!

Kona cafe is also a good option. You can get Planet Hollywood other places...not true of Kona! Go for it and enjoy!
