Just a quick question. Me and my girlfriend have a lot of special stuffed animals that we never really like to sleep without (theyre sentimental and this is a special trip). We have enough to fill an entire carryon bag with them (14 in total 2 of which are large but fit inside). Will they allow us to pass through security with them? It'd crush her if they tried to take them away at the airport or anything like that and I want this trip to be memorable for a different reason. Would it be better if we seperated them out between our backpacks and carryon bag? Any help is appreciated. -John

Welcome to the DIS. :welcome:
You may want to take a look at all the forums here on the DIS. You've received good answers here, but there are lots of specialty areas. This would usually be a Transportation Forum question, not a Resort Forum question. Lots of great info on the DIS, take a look at all the potential areas to view.

We've carried on stuffed animals. I had them in a bag with other things my kids wanted on the plane. No issues.

You made me giggle ... we did the same thing on our honeymoon and packed all of them... I have a gund bear was worried about carrying on because he has those little beads as stuffing and figured they would think it was odd that an adult was carrying on a stuffed animal ... we did not have any problems at all other than my husband being embarrassed

Thank you for answering. I tried to talk her into packing them in our checked luggage but she has really bad anxiety over losing them and didn't want to take any chances with lost luggage. Her reason was that clothes can be replaced but years of bonds and memories can't be so she didn't want to take the chance.

One extra tip: be sure you remove all of them from your bedding every morning and put them back in the suitcase. Stuffed animals have been known to be accidentally swept up when housekeeping changes the sheets, and then been lost in the giant laundry facility.

You shouldn't have an issue. When I moved to London a few years ago, I carried on a large stuffed cat. No issues with TSA at all. The only issue I had was the cat would not fit under the seat in front of me for take-off (had a carry in bag stuffed under there as well) so I had to place him in the empty seat next to me. It was a bit embarrassing, but nevertheless he made it to London.
