Plane Crashed in North Carolina 21 dead.

Did anyone hear the news about a plane crash in North Carolina this morning? A comuter plane with 21 people on board crashed into a hangar 21 people died. the plane was taking off at Charlotte-Douglass Airport. The weather was clear but windy. The Plane veered sharply back toward the airport. The crash is under investigation. I heard the news at lunch. I am sadden by the news of this tragic crash. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the crash victims.

My thoughts and prayers go out to them also. The family and friends were gathering at the airport in SC they were to be flying to. On our news tonight they were scrolling their names across the bottom of the screen.

They are saying that the pilot reported some problems when taking off. One black box has been recovered.

I'm not far away from there and I've heard now on local news that both black boxes have been recovered. Eyewitnesses said that the plane took off with an unusual pitch, the pilot did make an emergency call and the plane flipped over and dropped back down. So very sad - I've been thinking about the families all day - my heart goes out to them.

DH was flying home from Charlotte-Douglass tonight on USAir. Of course I still got that "sick to my stomach" feeling when I heard about the accident this AM until I heard that the flight was on its way to SC (Bill would be flying to Pittsburgh.) He did call late this AM to tell me that he was all right. And in the meantime I had a friend who had heard about the accident and knew of Bill's trip today call to see if I had heard from him.
It is scary - and so very sad...
