Plane change in BNA

OK, one more question for the day...

We are going to be flying SW. In our flight from MCO to BDL, we have to change planes in Nashville. Our plane is scheduled to land at 11:30 and we switch planes and are scheduled to take off at 11:55. Are we going to have enough time and what are our chances of sitting together on that next leg (we are traveling with 2 children)? We don't have to sit all together, just hoping to have 2 and 2.

Thanks!

Wow, that's a very short connection. Are you sure that you change planes? Many Southwest flights stop in a city but continue on...double-check that part...do you have 1 flight number or 2?

If you do switch planes, the good news is that Nashville is small and the Southwest gates are all close to each other. I'd recommend that you sit as close to the front of the plane as possible so that you can deplane quickly. It's hard to say how likely it is that you'll find seats together...I tend to think that 2 and 2 aren't terribly hard unless the plane has completely boarded by the time you get there. But good luck in any case!

Thanks for your reply. I double checked, it definitely says change planes in BNA and there are two flight numbers. I hope we didn't make a mistake...

I am hoping that a different flight will drop in price and we can rebook that one instead. I think we may have made a mistake when we booked though. We booked our flights to MCO and from MCO as one ressie. I think it is harder to change just the trip back this way? If I want to rebook the flight home, is there a chance I will lose the price I paid for the flight to MCO (this was not a ding).

Thanks again.

You shouldn't have a problem rebooking the flight home - it will allow you to rebook one leg and leave the other the same.

I'll second that you shouldn't have trouble making the change. But the time I did it with a RT on one ressie, I had to call and make the change . . . they may have revamped their on-line system since then.

I've done switches in BNA and that time-frame shouldn't be a problem. Unless the flight-in is late...but they'll usually hold the outgoing if it's not too late. Might have trouble sitting together though because the plane will likely be boarded by the time you get to the gate. As mentioned 2+2 shouldn't be hard.

Unless your plane is early there is a very good chance boarding will start before you get to the gate. Even a short delay and SW may have boarded the Cs before you get to the gate.

I don't think you can plan on getting seats next to each other. It's possible by the time you board only middle seats will be available. That will happen if you plane is delayed and SW is holding the plane for you.

The FA might try to get people to move if you have a young child (under 4, maybe under 5). Less likely if SW is holding the plane and they want to push back immediately.

All goes well and you'll get to the gate around the time it starts to board. Will it be the end of the world if you can't sit together? Consider paying extra to switch to the N/S flight.
