We will be staying at POFQ in May. DH and I are taking the kids to Blizzard Beach one of the mornings, and my parents (ages 65 and 63) who are going with us don't particularly care to go. We have never stayed at this resort before, so is there anything that would be fun for them to do until we get back around 3:00? I know they can take the boat to DTD, which they may end up doing. But what are some of their other choices? Neither one of them would really be up for just hanging around the pool.

How about going into one of the parks? I bet that they would have a nice, adult day. I would guess that they would have a good time at Epcot and could spend a lot of time in the World Showcase (eating, watching the movies about the countries, etc), something that children don't always have a lot of patience for.

Yeh, they would - only problem is that while Mom has a season pass, Dad is getting the Play Four pass, in which he will be using the four days during the rest of the week when we all go to the parks. I'm trying hard to talk him into the season pass, as it would only be $80 more, and I feel that he will probably go again within the year, but he seems convinced that he won't. So, at the moment, that's not an option.

The Boardwalk area has some neat shops and eateries they could explore.

They could take the bus to the Magic Kingdom, then get on the monorail and tour the monorail resorts.

Do they like tennis or golf? That is an option.

There are Water Mice boats, sail boats, canoes, kayaks, parasailing they could rent at any of the monorail resorts.

Pamper themselves with a massage or spa treatment at the Grand Floridian Spa or Saratoga Springs Spa.

If they like NASCAR, there is the Richard Petty experience. While expensive to ride or drive, it is free to watch others and you are right up close.

If they are considering going on the road someday with a motorhome, they could check out Ft. Wilderness Campground and get some great ideas on rigs.

There are horseback rides at Ft. Wilderness Campground.

If they like to go fishing, there are several fishing excursions on Bay Lake near the monorail resorts.

There are beautiful walking trails around POFQ and PO Riverside

There are two great miniature golf courses at WDW.

If they like baseball the O Rays minor league plays their season games at Wide World of Sports.

Sometimes the Harlem Globetrotters are practicing at Wide World of Sports.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

We'll be at PO FQ the same time you will!! May 21-25!!!!

My parents went with us the year we stayed at POFQ. We too went to a water park one day without my parents. My parents just choose to hang around the resort. After a few days in the parks they were happy to have some down time. I know my mother did laundry (sounds fun doesn't it ;) ). So many great suggestions have already been made. There will be plenty for them to do if they want to. Even a nice stroll over to Riverside will be enjoyable. I'm sure they'll find something to keep busy with. You will all have a great time there.

Thanks for all the great ideas. It looks like they will have to plenty to choose from.
