Preface:
Ok, so this morning our vacation plans fell apart. I’m ok with it because they weren’t to Disney! Lol. We were going to Destin, Fl with DH’s parents, but they are now probably not going at this time because our nephew is in the hospital. (He’s a whole other thread, but the short of it is this: he was injured 2 weeks after his first birthday and is now basically a vegetable. I’m trying hard not to sound like this is a small deal, but this happened 6 years ago and he’s been in and out of the hospital ever since. So, while it is a big deal, it’s not.) So, because we were staying with DH’s parents in their friend’s condo, DH says to me this morning, “Why don’t you run the numbers on Disney?”

Cast:
Myself: 26, Avid DISer, full-time mom, full-time ministry assistant, full-time student online, desperate for some magic – 6 trips to WDW as an adult, countless before
DH: 28, amused by my love of WDW, wonderful daddy, young adult minister, loves family time-especially if I’m smiling - 6 trips to WDW as an adult, countless before
DD: 5, beautiful, imaginative, smart, sassy, manipulative at times, always on stage- if you know what I mean, loves WDW, has been 3 times
DS: 2 almost 3, potty-trained (with rare accidents), large vocabulary, funny, asks every day, “tomorrow, can I go to Disney World?” Has been 2 times (3 if you count in-utero) ;)

How it really went:
So, let me elaborate on how this morning’s conversation actually went. DH just got home last night from Orlando with a group from our church. (They went to the other place! Lol) I was asleep when he got home and didn’t even wake up when he crawled in bed at 2am. This morning I was trying to ask home about vacation and what we were going to do and also about his trip that he just returned from. He kept putting me off, saying “we’ll talk about it in the car.” (He’s like that. He plans conversations.)
On our way to work, (we work together and our kids are on the same campus with us) I asked him about his trip and he mentioned the crowds in Orlando right now. I replied, I know, I would be hard pressed to say yes if you said let’s go to Disney next week…” He got a strange look on his face and I said, “What? Do you want to do that?” “Well…” he squirmed. My heart thumps, I swallow hard, “Now, I said, I’d be hard pressed, but I’d go.” “Ok, run the numbers and we’ll talk.”

How could I work?
We get the kids settled and I get to my desk. How could I work? I have a Disney trip to plan! Basically my entire morning was spent planning and doing enough work to get by. ;)
After lots of crunching, calling, surfing, etc., we book a cheap hotel not too far from Disney. (ALL of the Disney rooms are sold out. Not one to reserve. Even ones we couldn’t afford any way!) We call to get an ADR. LTT, none available while we are there. Ok, CM. None available here either. Well, ok, we’ll try something new. O’hana for breakfast. 7:45AM! Well, at least we got something.
Tickets. We ordered them and will pick them up at will-call.

Then…
No sooner than I clicked the button to purchase the tickets, the bad news came. Literally, I was printing the will-call certificate when DFIL walked in and said that my nephew has had a few “episodes.” Meaning, he’s not doing great, but then again, he never really is. We’ve been called in countless times before when the doctors said he wouldn’t make it through the night. It seems like he’s a Timex, (takes a licken’ and keeps on tickin’), or an Energizer (keeps going and going). Honestly though, they take great care of him. He would have died a long time ago if they didn’t. So, now I’m worried. If he’s going to go, it’s going to be moments after we activate our tickets. I just know it.
Later, DMIL gets a call that her 84 year old mother has fallen and is taken to the hospital. We find out it’s a broken hip. :(

So, today is Friday, August 3rd.
We're leaving tonight after work!
We're all packed up and ready to go. If we've forgotten anything, then we've forgotten it. :confused3 I'm so excited and the kids don't know where we are going! Katie (DD5) told her Daddy this morning that she thinks we're going to Disney World because she saw her light up spinny toy. (Darn.) But Daddy threw her off the trail. AND we're going to the JAX zoo tomorrow, something she's been looking forward to anyway. So, we might still have a surprise.
DS said that he's going do Disney World, but he says that everyday! :rotfl:

So, here I am, at work, pretending to keep my mind on work!:hippie:
