Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Scenario I haven't seen discussed yet (sorry if I missed it):
If someone is staying offsite for 10 days and can book 3 days out, I'm assuming at three days out that person can't book all 10 days of their trip but instead every day would need to book the date that is three days away (unless of course perhaps if they had a 10-day ticket.) Just like with dining reservations where someone staying offsite can't book their entire stay but instead everyday has to book their ADR that is 60 days away. Does that make sense? Am I understanding this correctly as someone who stays offsite frequently and has an AP (so no date based tickets)?

It appears that off-site or local guests with tickets can only purchase/schedule LLSP/LLMP 3 day (or less) in advance. For a 10-day off-site stay, you'll have to book daily - cannot book beyond the 3 days since Disney isn't aware of your hotel stay.

I actually enjoy it and it really doesn’t take much time. She really appreciates it too. She just graduated HS in June and she paid for this trip herself so I want her to have a good time. I also get to report back here and help others.

I did the same when her and my son went to DHS for a day in December with their dad. Their dad didn’t want to get G+ (he was there with his toddler) but my kids wanted it so I did it from home for them.
I love doing it, too! It's funny how often I check wait times from home.

I think it's amazing that she's paid for this trip herself! You must be so proud of her. That's a big deal for a recent high school graduate! 💜

Unfortunately that's what I suspected would be the case.

Are you sure about this? I thought that you’d be able to book for the duration of your ticket (so if I stayed off-site with a 5 day ticket, I’d be able to book all 5 days at the 3-day mark before the start of my ticket.

So...I book on Aug 4th for Aug 11(Sunday) Do we have enough info to guess whether GOG LLSP will be available?

This is the only reason I pay for the TP subscription. For the wait times! I only use them when at Disney.

I guess I’ll look into that! My concern is still that times are showing higher now vs the last few weeks. Even if they are inflated it seems they are even more inflated now. Maybe they over over inflated for the change 😂. Or it could be wait times are higher on avg. I guess we will have to wait and see.

it depends on your ticket type. Per the Disney website, if you have a dated ticket you can book for your whole trip.

That really stinks for Passholders especially since we still need to make park reservations. We should at least be able to make them for the 5 days we have park reservations for at the 3 day mark.
Agreed - we usually buy military tickets but I’ll be looking at the cost difference for our next big trip to see if being able to book further ahead outweighs the savings.

So some of my thoughts after Day One of prebooking
- Easy to get the return times I was looking for and figuring out the overlap issue.
- DO NOT like the removal of being able to overlap the LLs when going through the prebook. This makes things confusing especially when the app is showing an earlier time for something else and you cannot modify it. Thankfully you can overlap MPLL and SPLL.
I expect Disney to be able to fix this. They should allow overlapping when prebooking MPLL as it is the guests decision to do that.
- the return times shown for modifying are incorrect.

I suspect they buffed up the wait times to get more people to buy LLMP. That's the cynic in me~

There have been little drops through the day for rides that are fully booked. Around 3 there was a drop for Jungle Cruise with times ranging from 3:15-4:35 that lasted about 5 min.
Yesterday I disagreed with someone who said this new system meant that you didn't need to spend all day on your phone. You post shows exactly why it will be no different from G+ in that a drop of new times lasted a whole 5 minutes. If you weren't on your phone checking, you would miss it.

FWIW - and could have been a little glitch - but in the Paging Mr Morrow (Nate) video I posted earlier - he did show that it would have let him book PotC a second time....

So are we sure that you only get to book a LL for each attraction only once per day?

I tried it a few times today and it would not let me at all. I just tried again and it says “could not secure this experience.”

I’m taking my family of 6 in September. I have never liked the idea of “pay to play”. I believe the playing field should be level for everyone - from the family who had to scrimp to come to those not worried about the extra cost. I’ve been in both camps. When my son was younger we went on the super budget spectrum-stayed in either timeshares my aunt gifted us or hotels I now shudder to think about, no hoppers, QS meals only and luckily for me a kids meal was usually enough for me, very rarely did I let him get a snack, we packed our own snacks and ate offsite, etc. Many years later I can afford to stay onsite and “pay to play” but Disney needs to realize that this means that while I normally have one table service meal each day (most of them price fixe) I am no longer doing that. You can have my money one way OR the other but not both. This upcoming trip we only have two sit down meals (dinner in the Castle and Artist Pointe). The kids are being limited to souvenirs-they have their own money and grandma will supplement some. Again Disney you’re forcing a choice between over priced merchandise and the ride system. I think they’re probably making more money on MLL and LL so don’t care about the per guest expenditure they are losing on food and merchandise.

IMHO “pay to play” needs to go away. Everyone should be treated equal once they step through those turnstiles.

Stepping down from soapbox md thanks for listening
