Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

We have a trip next weekend, and I'm trying to decide if I want to try LLMP one day. We never spend a whole day at the parks, and almost always go to a different park in the afternoon.

I'm going to keep an eye on day of availability, but what I'm thinking is maybe book for AK with early times, and then start booking Tier 1 rides at MK. I *think* this should work out given what I've seen today for availability with the exception of Tiana's. I'm ok with the 4-6 selections being slightly later, since we'll be taking a break at our hotel anyways. If I end up deciding to try it, I'll keep track of what we book and when, and share on here afterwards.

I did not read all the replies, but saw some saying that you have to be in the park (in your case, MK) in order to book subsequent passes. I saw the original post where this conclusion was drawn but I think the reasoning was weak. Anyway, is this confirmed?

Thinking about a trip in October that starts with a rope drop in AK (for flight or passage and Everest) and ends with a late night in Epcot (for Tron and world showcase . Would like to do the middle of the day at MK or HS (really both but that's hectic).

Not sure if its possible to thread the needle with doing lightning Lane at the mid day park(s). Probably need more data.

I would pre-book your rides for MK afternoon. Assuming you mean GotG at Epcot? I would just pay for it on single ride. You can pick an evening time. Rope drop AK and ride FOP, then Everest (single rider is great on that one if the line is long). You could always purchase FoP also if you are not early enough to ride at rope drop.

if you have a park hopper ticket you can book for any park after you scan in for your first ride.

This may have already been asked, but can anyone share what availability looks like 7 days out? Looking 3 days out in the app, you could get morning times (e.g. 10:00 or so) for Tier 1's like Space Mountain & Big Thunder, and evening times for 2nd Tier like HM and Pirates, but are earlier times available going out 7 days or more?

I'd want more data. My initial thinking from periodic glances at the tip board is if you score morning LLs at park 1 as you use them up you have a decent chance of getting ok nighttime LLs at park 2. Alas, we gotta get through this first week for better data.

Just from some brief refreshing and checking in at HS, I’m seeing pretty much everything available (except ROTR). This has me more optimistic.

Same - a lot of new availability has shown up in HS and MK (haven't been watching Epcot or AK). Things that were gone an hour ago are now showing times available. Heck you could book Big Thunder at 4 PM as of a minute or two ago.

I think they just had a big drop in DHS. I just got my daughter and her friend Slinky and it is still showing availability 3 minutes later. For plenty of times.

Once she scans into her next ride I’ll get her Alien’s and she’s done. Only thing left for her to get would be shows. She has gotten a LLMP for every ride at DHS and we only had to refresh for Slinky.

Slinky has been available for a good bit now - definitely not a fluke (like someone canceling and one slot popping up).

I have been looking at stand by waits for several weeks now and yesterday and today stand by waits are definitely longer. Usually in AK and Epcot afternoon wait times have been much shorter. And HS which usually has 45 to 55 mins stand by lines are now 70 to 90 mins for popular attractions. Hopefully they will come back down over time once the newness of the change and availability settles.

I actually enjoy it and it really doesn’t take much time. She really appreciates it too. She just graduated HS in June and she paid for this trip herself so I want her to have a good time. I also get to report back here and help others.

I did the same when her and my son went to DHS for a day in December with their dad. Their dad didn’t want to get G+ (he was there with his toddler) but my kids wanted it so I did it from home for them.

Looking at AK now, no rides are down. Safari is a 40 min wait, Kali and Everest 60 mins and Dino is 20. That’s a good bit higher than what I have been tracking

If you look at the Touring Plans lines app it seems that the Disney wait times are overinflated.

The lines app has safari at 42 minutes, kali at 33 minutes and Everest at 28 minutes.

I was also able to have Star Tours at 12:30-1:30 and Rise for 12:45-1:45 at the same time.

This is the only reason I pay for the TP subscription. For the wait times! I only use them when at Disney.
