Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

🤣

Yes, because Disney is well known for rolling out new things and not charging more.
Fair! I'm sure the pricing will climb over time, but the screenshots that they shared in their collateral is consistent with current G+ pricing, and Scott Gustin (who was clearly briefed by Disney and is usually extremely reliable) has said that it would be consistent.... at least initially.
I'm sorry for asking a question that may have already been covered but nothing is coming up for me when I search.
Will Tiana's switch off the VQ from the 24th July when this new system goes live?
I don't know why they would switch off the Virtual Queue.

VQs are how they allocate standby capacity, independent of LLs. They're used for attractions that are too popular or too unreliable to allow an unlimited standby queue. (You don't want a 4-hour line, especially if you're going to have to dump the queue three times per day.) Changing how the LL system work doesn't necessarily impact how they handle the standby queue.

Even now, at Tiana you can either join the Virtual Queue or book access with Genie+. Replacing Genie+ with LL Multi-Pass doesn't change that basic dynamic. For those without Lightning Lane access.

For that matter, they also have a VQ at TRON, where they also sell ILL access.

No there will not be a multi-park pricing for LLMP. If you booked the lower park as your initial park you can chose a LLMP at a different park on the day of your park visit for no additional fee.

ETA: fix text to show a no answer....

That is going to make it an interesting way to use this system. If it works this way & they don't change it - also gives more value to having a Park Hopper ticket. I already see ways to make that work to your advantage all within the Disney rules. I have a park hopper so I'm all for this. Of course, I'm basing this on how things are right now and I'm 99% sure once the system goes live, Disney will make some changes.

Ah it was announced before Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened that it's VQ would only be used until early July. It is listed as a Tier 1 ride in the LLMP data.

Dave
I hadn't heard that they announced the VQ would be short-lived. That's interesting; we'll see when it's stable enough for them to drop it!

I do know that it's listed as a Tier 1 LLMP attraction, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't also use a VQ. The VQ is for the standby lane, and LLMP is for the lightning lane. (Similar to how they have TRON and Guardians with VQs for standby, and ILLs for lightning lane access).

Are we sure there's going to be different pricing per park like Genie+? Might just be one price for the day. Still more questions than answers until we see how it works for real guests!
My speculation: Different pricing for different park. Same price for both hoppers and non-hoppers.

I never saw early July or even July mentioned as when they would drop the VQ. I only saw "A standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days," and "we expect to open a standby queue soon," and similar vague language. Where did you see July?

Does it take a long time to get the card for each person at the front gate? Just want to maximize the entry time at the start of the day.
I don't think it takes long to get each card, but how long it will take overall will depend on how long the lines are at the ticket booths.
Basically we just scan the phone and they immediately give a card for each person ?
Yes, that's my understanding. It's actually possible for the CM at the park entry tapstyle to make the cards, but when there's a large group (more than 2 people), out of courtesy to those behind you it's recommended to stop at the ticket booth or GR and get the cards first.

Are you staying onsite at a Disney hotel? If so, you can get the cards at the front desk when you check in.

Using MK as an example I believe we can book 1 tier 1 multi-LL and 2 tier 2 multi-LL in addition to 2 single-ILLs prior to leaving for WDW. Once there we can also try to get a Virtual Queue the morning or afternoon we are at the park.

So, it is possible the morning we head to the park, we could have 6 rides lined up.

I also could be wrong or in shock once I see the price to do it.

Thank you, we are staying offsite (for the first time in forever because have older kids and just can't be crammed in tiny rooms on property anymore....). When we went to DL last year, we got the cards at the front entrance and it was fairly quick but I certainly do not want to hold up the lines. So we can go to a separate booth outside the entrance, get the cards, and then go to the actual entrance line?

I'm not convinced they will.

When I look at Jackie's post, yes I see TBA in the 'Tier 1' of MK LL offerings but, it's there now as a Genie+ LL option. Where is Tron at MK (other than LLSP); Guardians at Epcot or Rise of the Resistance at DHS? These are not listed as options for LLMP. I agree with you @Cabius that I don't know why (or believe that they will) turn off VQs.

It was announced that it would not be for long but, please provide a reliable link that state, 'Until early July'. I have not seen that announced by Disney. Possibly I missed it? If so, I will look at the link.
Scroll down on this page and download their cheat sheet.
I respect that they have a 'cheat sheet' but, this is a Disney Food Blog post, not a Disney post.

I have a hard time believing we have all the required information needed to truly understand what will happen July 24th and forward, without more information published by Disney itself, not 3rd party websites.

Correct as soon as you scan in for your first LLMP than you are able to make another selection. It will be a rolling 3 passes. You just can't rebook a repeat ride. Your additional LLMP selections may be in any park.

Dave
I scanned through and didn’t see this answered and not sure anyone knows yet-I understand I can pre book three rides in the same park. After I use the first one, I can book one more ride in any park. Once I book another ride in another park (4th pass), can I go back and book the next ride (5th pass) in original park? Thinking of a type of stacking method with this!
Ie-prebook three in MK
Day of-use first in MK
Book 4th ride for later in day at HS
Use 2nd pass in MK
Book 5th ride for sooner time in MK
Use third pass in MK
Book 6th ride for MK but then I will have my HS later in day

A concern i have is now if i want a ILL for lets say Rise, i could buy it day of. Usually i dont buy one but if for some reason i couldnt RD or get it at day end and i want to get it on my last day , i could. Now, i will probably have to plan to get it ahead (or not) as it probably wont be available spur of the moment on the day.

Yes. If your first park is MK, the ticket booths are at the TTC right after you go through the security lines from the parking lot. That would be the best place to get your ticket cards. Then you can ride the ferry or monorail across to the MK entrance.

If your first park is DHS, AK, or Epcot, there are ticket booths at those entrances.

If you happen to be going to Disney Springs before going to a park (some guests visit DS on arrival day and start their park visits the next morning), the Official Ticket Center there can also issue the cards.

Have fun!

I feel like the system will benefit those who go in the morning, leave for midday break, and come back later. For those folks, wouldn’t it make sense to book your three advanced selections in the morning and then as you add an additional one after each ride, schedule for the evening. Do we know yet if you are able to modify times? This will help in case a ride pops up that is only available during your afternoon break time. Is this making sense? ;)
We usually take mid day breaks at our resort. When we used FP+ for some parks like AK we would book evening passes (Pandora is so much better at night) and then dinner around 8/9 pm (Boma, Ohana).

For parks like MK we would book am passes and evening would be more fireworks and show centered. We never used the 4th FP because by the time we used the first 3, the last one would be a walk on ride anyway.

My speculation: Different pricing for different park. Same price for both hoppers and non-hoppers.
I agree. It would be the more recent surge pricing NOT last year’s price because a year or so before that we had $15 Genie+ which we have not returned to.
