Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Yes. I'm from Canada. If they don't change this so we can use the 7 day window they will never see another dime of my money ever.

We haven't been since the introduced G+ and these changes were to our liking. But then they pulled the rug out with the this inside the US nonsense.
IF and that's a big if this is true. I won't be renewing my AP. I'll stop going for 5 to 7 day 3 times a year. I like cruising and I'm sure my non disney loving spouse would love to spend our vacation dollars elsewhere. I may love disney but there is also a park in Paris that I could go too

What do people think will be the specific rides that "sell out" between on-site guest booking and off-site guest booking? For a variety of reasons we prefer off-site, and I don't really think this new announcement changes my mind. We were only planning to buy G+ certain days anyway.

That being said, what do you think will be "sold out" to off-site guests booking only 3 days out? ETA: Looking at Thrill Data, the G+ rides that sell out before park opening time are Remy and Slinky. I'm guessing the only other thing that be gone is TBA. Will anything else be gone for off-site?

I'm starting to think the cost of Multi Pass is basically for 3 prepaid LL's for rides. The more you can get based on "availability" - the cost per ride comes down.

Hey Disney.......Why not just just sell a reduced price base ticket ( standby users ) and just put a price for a LL on every ride ( for those wanting a faster experience )? Call it The DIY Plaid Ticket :wizard:
I could see a possible future "micro-transaction" system where every ride gives you the option enter the LL any time by scanning your MB and being charged $5, $10, or whatever the price for that ride's LL is. They could even incorporate Uber-style "surge" pricing. The longer the standby line for Peter Pan is, the more it costs to skip the line in the LL.

I would have liked to have seen that....

...Runner suddenly stops 10 feet from the finish line and pulls out their phone. 'Sorry, it's 7am and I have to book my LL'
Lol... right before 7 though u do see a whole bunch of the runners pull off to the side though or slow down to a walk during the half's and the marathon to book the LL. Then you will hear a bunch cheer. I am slow enough though I am no where near the finishline at 7.

Since at WDW, I would have thought it would be more like a group of 4 runners all in a row, stopping abruptly in front of racers trying to finish.

That's good that runner etiquette is intact though. Me personally, there's no way I'd prioritize LLs over my super expensive race that I trained for a year. We've talked about possibly signing up for Dopey's Challenge someday but $688/ea. is quite a bit for me to be limping around the rest of my vacation (normal for me after a marathon).

At this point there at far too many unknowns. We have no idea how much inventory Disney will be releasing for pre-selects. May be no issues booking tier 1 rides on park days. We will know more over the next couple of months.

What's to stop a person from buying the same park MP, with the 3 same rides every single day of their trip. One of the biggest problems with FP+ was you had to book your last day first for a good selection of rides and work backwards from end of trip bookings to beginning. That was 60 days out onsite & 30 days offsite.

I want to know why Disney released this info when most of their employees haven't been trained up on it yet. And the fact they have so many inconsistencies about what is/isn't correct.
It's ridiculous.
This is why I never think chat or phone cast members are reliable sources. You cam get 6 different stories from 5 different people

Just saw this on the UK trip planning forum. It sounds more logical.

The original Reddit post this comes from confirms it was just a random phone CM. I believe the outlets that were reporting on the international issue gathered the information straight from Disney through their more reliable contact points there.

Before EPCOT opened, they had a pretty low gate price and then you had to buy ride tickets for each attraction. I can't imagine them going back to it.

The reason they went away from that was that there were not nearly enough attractions in EPCOT to be profitable for them. They would either make much less money per guest, or they would have to charge a much higher gate price for EPCOT. So instead, they raised the ticket price and included all attractions with the price of admission.

This is till their basic problem. Right now a ticket to Disney's Animal kingdom is only slightly cheaper than a ticket to Magic Kingdom, but if they tried to charge per attraction, each DAK guest would generate only a fraction of ride revenue.

Variable pricing in LeeLoo Dallas Lighting Lane MultiPass somewhat reflects this disparity, but overall it's more profitable for them to bundle the service than to charge per-ride, especially when some of their parks only have a handful of attractive rides.

(Not to hate on DAK, which is my favorite WDW theme park. But not because of the quantity of attractions!)

Conversations today with multiple people at Disney tech support all say the same thing: As of right now visitors from outside the U.S. WILL NOT be able to purchase LLs in advance of their arrival.

I assume that is because the only way to do it (as of today) would be through the app, which only seems to work in the US, Canada and parts of Mexico. Which also means I assume Canadians WILL be able to use the app when the time comes, and that has been an oversight in the wording.

Exactly this. When I spoke to a lovely cm this morning she had no idea what I was talking about. She read the entire info page to me that she was given, then found it hidden in the footnotes. She then went to her team lead, who confirmed the rule. She was so embarrassed that she hadnt had the correct information.

And people can get on wdwnt all they want, but if it puts pressure on Disney to either confirm, deny, or change the policy, i’m all for it. It shouldn’t be on the frontline cast members to navigate this with incomplete information. Canadians may be polite, but you come for our coins and we will rage.
