Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Another very specific question for my upcoming trip. I'm going with a party of nine. We are all staying onsite, but 6 of the party check in on Saturday at SSR and 3 check in on Sunday at the Poly. Since we can book 7 days out from check in, the group of 6 has a head start on the group of 3, but we'd like to schedule all of them together at the same time, preferably 7 days out from the Saturday check in.

The group of 6 is checking into a 2BR unit that sleeps 9, so we had the idea to add the three to the reservation on Saturday so that we could book everyone for the length of the trip. But thinking about it a little more, I'm unsure that would work. So I guess the questions are:
  • Can the three be added to the SSR reservation for just one night? If so, it probably wouldn't let us book the lightning lanes for length of stay for the three or would it?
  • Would adding the three to the reservation and not specifying the length (i.e., they're on it the full week) cause issues with their reservation starting the next day at another resort?
Thanks to everyone!

What type of tickets do you have for the party of 6, are they part of a package? And for the group of 3 are their tickets part of a package?

None of our tickets are part of a package. We all have DVC room only reservations and bought tickets through third party site.

Just finished securing lightning lanes passes. Boy I miss the old days. I can’t imagine how hard it is for first (or second or third) timers to know distances between attractions to help with planning.

Okay, now that I got that off my chest, the calendar wasn’t showing the second half of my trip. I read on this forum about refreshing. How do you do that?

Thanks.

Which park day would you book first when the 7-day resort guest LLMP window opens up? DHS or MK? DHS is on my 4th day of trip, MK is my 3rd. The only LL I really care about is Tiana for MK. Slinky is the priority at DHS. Going in a few weeks. TIA

MK. DHS SDD is among the hardest to get. Lock that in then work back to Tiana. Tiana availability is much higher. That being said you should be fine considering these are your 3rd and 4th days (access to MLL times 7+3 days and 7+4 days out).

🤞🏼

A note with Tiana, I have been monitoring the app and it seems like new times are released day of specifically for that ride every hour at the :47 mark (1:47, 2:47, etc) for the next hour. So if they keep doing that it won’t be hard to get same day LLs for it

Thank you. I've read a few blogs that seem to go back and forth between the two. I was leaning toward Slinky/DHS first. :)

I would like to book my 3 lighting lanes at MK for early afternoon after visiting AK in the morning. I do have to reserve my park day, but do I need to have MK for my park reservation or Animal Kingdom since I will start the day there? I will be purchasing the lightning pass for MK.

Hello-- so still trying to figure out the LLMP and LLSP. We are going over spring break after 10 years so all is new to me. We come in March 25th. We are getting Park Hopper tickets (2 day) ahead of time. When can we purchase LL passes? 7 days ahead or anytime? I know the tiers need to be picked 7 days ahead but not sure if we can purchase the passes before hand and then wait until 7 days ahead to make the tier selections? Also do you make those selections at midnight or 7:00 am? I believe I make those selections on the 18th.

This may have been posted previously but I could not find it in a search.

What takes priority when you begin reserving LLMP and LLSP rides? Is it the SP or MP rides that take priority?

If staying onsite (Disney resort or Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve or Shades or Green), it's 7:00 AM Eastern time on March 18 (one week before your hotel check-in day). You make your selection(s) and your purchase as one transaction. You purchase each day separately. You can make separate LLMP and LLSP transactions, but can combine them if you prefer.

ok thank you. I can't believe I will have to be late to work in order to do this. I start at 7:00 am

Does anyone have any experience using 2 different tickets in the same trip and how that affects the LL booking window? I am going April 28-30 and my cast member friend is getting me in using one of her free one day tickets on the 28 and then I’m buying my own ticket for the 29-30. I’m just wondering if the system will recognize I have tickets those 3 days and if I can book everything on the 25 or if I’d only be able to book for the 28 on that day. If nobody has any experience I guess I’ll just find out 😂

If I only choose 2 LL when I initially purchase the LLMP, what is the procedure for selecting a 3rd LL? Can it be done in advance or only day of?

You are able to make your 3rd selection at any point during your 7 day or 3 day window, day of before you enter the park or even after you enter your selected park.

Your selection may be reduced that longer you wait.

But in order to make the 3rd one at another park or another tier 1 you have to scan into your first one, correct?

Thanks, that's good to know.
Another question: In the screen where you modify LL times before finalizing the purchase, are you able to change one ride to another, or just to change the times?
