Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Just wanted to say that if you have a prioritized ride, I think the approach I took this morning (picked Tiana only from MPLL and motored immediately to checkout, then went back to get some tier 2's knowing they'd likely be much easier to change later/day-of) gives the best chance at getting something that might be tough to modify, and at the earliest possible time.

I still prefer genie +, but I was pleasantly surprised this morning. Together with some of the videos I've seen recently, I think this system will be easily workable for most who are on Disboards doing their research!
That was very smart. I didn’t get Tiana. But we got rides and I’m happy. We can keep trying for other things throughout the day.
I am just happy to be going and will enjoy the parks!

I had a short two day trip and my booking window was not until august second. I was able to secure tiana's no problem 7 days out, It was even first thing in the morning. However , the day we were going was a MNSSHP, So less people may have been buying it.
Thank you for your reply! We will be there at a pretty busy time, but the busiest but busy! No parties our week either…..

If our first MPLL of the day is a tier 2 attraction and it expires before we’re able to tap in (delayed flight, for instance), can we book a tier 1 ride once it expires?

My choices are all kind of close together. I assume that will be ok. I hope we can fill in along the way.

@2vets When you chose Tiana first, did you select and then immediately go back and then select the other 2 tier 2, or did you actually pay and then go back to that day quickly and modify add?
I went all the way through and paid. I also wanted to get Tiana for two days earlier, so I did this (these assume my check-in day is Day 1, I have 5 nights)

1) Sunday (Day 6) - Tron and Tiana - got in and paid as fast as possible for our group of 3, then
2) Friday (Day 4) - more relaxed, as I will be solo until 4 pm - Tiana, HM, Pooh - then, I did
3) Friday (Day 4) -Tron and Dwarves SPLL for the full group of 3 between 4:30-5:40 before the Halloween party, and then
4) Thursday (Day 3) - Remy, Nemo, Figment and THEN
5) Sunday (Day 6) - went back onto the LL Passes screen (via the hamburger menu, the square in the top right) added HM and Pooh, which were still super early, HM is at 8:30 am.

I wasn’t sure what adding the tier 2 rides later would look like and was nervous about it, so just adding a screenshot (from my arrival day, still dithering over flights) to show how easy it was to go back in and add.

Thanks so much!! Ill be doing MKs twice on this trip so i appreciate your explanation as your approach looks like i might think about that for one of the days!

if I recall you browsed Thrill Data the day before? Was that info useful when you were actually booking?

I did, Our DHS day isn't until later in our trip so had no issues getting one for slinky, managed to get one 9.10am on 19th Aug. Latest date I can check on my ticket for you is 25th and 9am was available which I think is the earliest for that date currently.

Question - did the system automatically give you these overlapping times or did you have to modify?

Not clear on why you would pick Tiana and then check out, then returning for Tier 2s? Doesn’t the system hold your selections for 5 min?

I am trying to purchase LL for first time on this new system was eligible at 7am but it's been "adding a few more magical touches" for 7 minutes now. How long does this normally take? If it's magic it should happen instantaneously :)

It does, after you select them. But it arranges them how it wants, and they are tricky to rearrange in 5 min; the two rides I wanted as early as possible that day were Tiana and Tron. I knew we’d get more LLs, but in case Tiana had issues, I wanted it as early as possible. I could have then added the tier 2’s, but I didn’t know if it would redo the times (it may not have) - but, I also wanted to get Tiana for 2 days earlier, so I wanted to move to that second day, ASAP.

Edited - clarification

Not at all 😂! I will check back for drops of earlier times for my first Tiana, but I don’t see a consistent pattern on thrill data other than random drops!!

I was thinking of this method too. My booking day is next Wednesday. ;) I only have a 3 night stay before my Fantasy cruise so it makes it more dicey.

My sister usually leaves to drive home around noon, sometimes sooner if my niece gets cranky or it starts raining. I have straight up been abandoned in MK a few times! This two-step prioritization seemed like our best bet, and now that I’ve seen how challenging it is to rearrange/overlap much during prebooking, I think it was the perfect approach. Enjoy!!
