I am planning our first visit to Disneyland and I am trying to include some activites that my husband will enjoy. Can you recommend somewhere he can go and try different beer? I had thought of the ESPN Zone and wondered if there was anywhere else.

Thanks

hmmmmm....inquiring minds want to know!!

now thats something I would love to see on a disney map...a little beer logo as a key ..showing all the spots to get beer...

I know the Grand and the DL hotel both have lounges in them. You can also get alcohol at some of the other restaruants in DTD.

Ariels Grotto in California Adventure serves beer. You can get it at ESPN (as you mentioned). In fact I think most, if not all, sit down restaurants in downtown disney serve alcohol. There are also the bars in the three disney hotels that serve alcohol (I think there is one in PP isn't there?).

White Water Snacks (in GCH - but right through the DCA entrance) sells bottled beer. I know there are a couple more spots for alcohol in DCA - but they are not coming to me yet...

We also love ESPN (especially DH). We usually will try to get a meal there so he can soak in the sports and relax with a few drinks.

As others have mentioned alcohol is free flowing in DTD - no problem finding something there.

Thanks - for those suggestions. I guess I was looking for somewhere that served up beers of specialty I guess you could say. We have been to DW and he loved going to Epcot and trying all the different beers of the world!

That would be ideal!

The best I've found a DLR is just ESPN Zone.

Don't forget the beer cart in GCA!! great for when you need to take a little break!

Anyone know if they serve Capt. Morgans Rum or some ice cold smirnoff at disneyland? i would think ariels grotto , or hooks pointe might, since i will be staying at the DLH. if not, do they have fridges in the DLH so i can pack my own? =]

That's where I go. I always go to Disneyland in the fall and I have to have somewhere to watch my Seahawks!

At DCA you can get different types of beer from California. Tony Roma's has a nice drink selection also.

Not a big beer drinker, but dh likes to hang out and Uva Bar or GCH's hearthstone lounge. Packing your beer is also a good idea. There are refrigerators at DLH. We always make a stop at the grocery store to pick up our liquor.

The House of Blues had some beer on tap when we stopped in Aug 05. They also had Karaoke and half price apps later in the evening. Very close to the ESPN zone, but not kid friendly like ESPN if you don't have a sitter.

ESPN zone if you aren't familiar with it has recliner lounger chairs (like in your living room) lined up in front of tv's in the bar. A total treat for my hubby. You can also sign up online and get freebies by signing up for the MVP club.

Like a previous disser said, there is a beer cart in DCA over by the Wharf/PP area that has microbeer on tap. Pretty good stuff from what I remember. :drinking1

Inside DCA:
Karl Strauss Beer truck has several different, regular menu, good micro brews, and some seasonal ones in it's selection.

Taste Pilots Grill has a few beers in it's selection.
Or maybe just Bud or Strauss? It's been a while. :confused3

The Cove Bar in Paradise Pier has a full bar and a decent beer selection
Some good snacks too.

In the Grand Californian Hotel:
White Water Snacks has canned beer, and good food, in a really relaxing atmosphere..

Hearthstone Lounge is what I recommend. Full bar, good beer selection, comfortable, relaxing setting. Also try the outdoor sitting area, garden and
2nd fireplace right outside the Hearthstone Lounges West door.

Napa Rose lounge is also a very relaxing, always fun and has a good bar and additional seating area. Great appetizes... the thin cheese bread is great with a good beer!

At the DL Hotel:
The Lost Bar is the place to drink beer... at the DLH.

Downtown Disney:
Tortilla Jo's, the Uva Bar and Ralph Brennans are cool places, with good beers.
ESPNZone is a fun place for a game or a snack, but it's not a cool place for beers in my opinion. It's too loud and uncool.. I can't relax and enjoy some suds. YMMV.

I recommend trying the beer truck in DCA for the various tasty Strauss beers, and the Hearthstone Lounge at the Grand Cali for the Newcastle Brown Ale, checkers and bar snacks! :cool1:

To add to inside DCA, Ariel's Grotto supposely has a bar on top... Winery also has wine. I rmember that there is like 6 locations to get beer at DCA, i dont remember all of them though.
