What are some of your fav. places to eat? I am trying to get my ADR done. We have the Deluxe Dinning Plan and they have changed alot of places since we went in 2003. I hate that I can't use my plan at Rainforest Cafe that is our fav. We have a 7 year old son and we need some help picking places to eat.

We've eaten at Chefs de France, Garden Grill, and Le Cellier at Epcot. They were all good. Garden grill is a character meal with Mickey, Pluto, and chip and Dale. Crystal palace for breakfast was amazing....also character....pooh and gang. We tried Sci-Fi in Hollywood studios and we didnt care for it. but it was fun to try once. CRT lunch was awsome. Hope that helps. We used the dining plan for the first time this past august and LOVED it. So august '09 when we go back we will definately have it again and try different things....Good Luck!!!

Rainforest Cafe has never accepted the dining plan.

If you're going in 2009, some of the others you are thinking of may just be usual non-Disney-owned participants that haven't signed on for 2009 yet. Look at the 2008 list. The restaurants on this list will most likely participate for 2009 - although the final 2009 list has not been released at this time.

Ah, the old Silver Plan was fabulous ... Rainforest Cafe was included when we did it in December 2004. Probably what the OP was talking about if she visited last in 2003. It was closer in spirit and cost to the current DxDDP than basic dining.

OP, it's hard for me to answer the question since there are so many great restaurants. Are you looking for best character meals? Do you like buffets? Are you interested in signature dining?

When we did deluxe in September, we had a "fun" character or theme-y meal for late breakfast or lunch, then ate at a signature every night.

Some favorites of my two oldest boys are, in no particular order:

Coral Reef
Garden Grill (Mickey and friends)
'Ohana for breakfast and dinner (breakfast has Lilo, Stitch & Mickey, dinner has no characters)
Biergarten (it's the oompa band)
Crystal Palace for any meal (Pooh and friends ... seems childish but they always request it)
California Grill (signature)
Chef Mickeys (Mickey and friends ... though it has my least favorite food on this list)
Tusker House for breakfast or lunch (breakfast has Donald & friends, lunch doesn't have characters)
Sci Fi Diner
1900 Park Fare for breakfast (Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins)
Jiko (signature)
Narcoossee's (signature)
Raglan Road (they love the band)
Beaches & Cream

We enjoyed dinners at the following:

Biergarten (Epcot)
Boma (AKL)
Crystal Palace (MK)
Liberty Tree Tavern (MK...but no more characters next month)
1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian)

Breakfasts at Chef Mickey's (Contemporary) and Hollywood & Vine (DHS) were both excellent.

Our favourites include:

Food:
Boma
Tusker House
Flying Fish
Artist Point
Jiko
Narcoosee's
Yachtsman's (if you like beef)
Raglan Road
(Earl of Sandwich...not a good use of credits, but, delicious)
Le Cellier (we haven't been there since the menu changes)

Best Experiences:
Sci Fi (order burgers, tofu, ice cream, BLT soup)
Whispering Canyon
Tusker House breakfast
Crystal Palace
Raglan Road (after 9, music and Irish dancer)

From a food standpoint, we've found that the buffets (i.e. most of the character meals) are best at breakfast. Breakfast food just seems to be more conducive to large buffet service. (Boma is the exception to this and the only dinner buffet we do regularly.)
