I have a relative that lives just south of the 192/27 intersect.
Our only complaint about that area is the lack of decent places to eat. There are any number of restaurants, but not many of them are good.
The Indian Restaurant on 27 at Polo Park has closed. We find Randy's to be about the worst restaurant in the immediate area. The "strip" from Sherberth Rd (the one that leads to AK) to 27 has any number of restaurants, but even the chains there don't do it right. Carrabbas is dirty and the service is poor, the food worse. TGIF has the market cornered on horrid waitstaff. Outback there has very poor food preparation.
When we want to go out to dinner in that area, we do head south. The Applebee's is brand new, and surprisingly good. The food is hot, the place is clean and the staff still care. Bob Evans on 192 is the best place for breakfast. They are friendly, have a comprehensive menu and excellent prices. I refuse to eat in Denny's. Long story.
There is a Papa John's Pizza at the Publix shopping center (not the Orange Lake one) that does a fairly decent carry out. There is a Pizza Hut too. It's inconsistent. Have had ok pizza there and inedible pizza there.
Manny's Chophouse further south is worth the trip.
Otherwise, head the "wrong" way for that area and go to Dr. Phillips. There are any number of excellent restaurants in that area. It will add about twenty minutes to your "return home" drive, but trust me on this, they are twenty well spent minutes.
