Recently got off the Wish and booked the placeholder. I’ve found a cruise that I’m interested in for next Spring. With the reduced deposit being offered, I’m tempted to go ahead and book it. If we change our minds before all the cancellation dates, do we lose the place holder credit? It’s good for 2 years, I just don’t want to rush and book another (between the post cruise excitement and reduced deposit) and then realize it would have been better to wait for something else a little later on?! I’m one of those people who can have multiple Disney trips planned but may only take 1-2 if that makes sense. Thanks!

If you outright cancel, then you'll lose your placeholder. However, you can almost always change your cruise to something else without losing the placeholder. There might be a fee to change, depending on how far out you are.

If the cruise you want is 7+ nights, you'll pay a reduced deposit with the placeholder (minus the $250). You can't double-up the public offer plus the placeholder.

As PP states, you can change the date of the placeholder whenever you want. Just keep the embarkation date within the 2-year window. Don't cancel and rebook to the different cruise.

Use the phrase “I would like to modify my reservation” when speaking to the DCL agent.

Modify is the Magic word. Your reservation number stays the same.

Fun to hear you had a great cruise - and got your placeholder.
