Place to stay driving home to Michigan

We have to drive this time (boo) and will be leaving the area and heading back to Michigan. Would probably not want to drive more then 11 hours that first day..has anyone driven this route home and where do you usually stop for the night?

We are taking I75 home verus I77/I95 way going down (staying in Brunswick GA)

We live Downriver. The halfway point for us is Chattanooga TN. You should have a pretty good choice of hotels there. Taking our time it takes about 10 hours for each leg of the trip.

We live in central Michigan and Chattanooga, TN is halfway for us. There are lots and lots of hotels in that area, it's a great place to stop and stay. Fortunately for us my husbands parents live there and we usually stay there. Yay!
