we got dh free as well and we hired them twice for the wedding in disney and the blessing in the uk

Mini Update

Last week I posted (I think) that I'd asked my 2 best friends to be bridesmaids. I made them both cards asking them. I had so much trouble printing them out! My computer wouldn't connect to the colour printer so I couldn't print the writing out in pink - no big deal, I'll just print in black. The b&w printer wouldn't take the paper I was using as it was too thick, and so on. Long story short, I get home with 15mins to spare until I meet up with them for my 'big announcement' and I also have these stupid cards to make that I thought were a brilliant idea. I am the worst person with a pair of scissors, I couldn't cut in a straight line for $1m. That being said, I think they turned out OK (Disclaimer: The photos were taken with my phone as I was in a rush so they're really bad!)

The poem inside reads:

The time has come for Elfyn and I to join our lives as one

While I'd like to take credit for the cheese, I have to admit I found it on the internet.


Today, I went to try on Victoriana yet again. This time I took my mum as she hadn't seen it in the ivory yet. She really loved it and thought it was much better than the light gold I'd tried on. This time I tried it on with a huge 2-hoop petticoat which looked much better than the hoopless and I think suited the dress a lot more. I could just imagine standing in the WP in it.

Colours
So our colours are Brown, Pink, Champagne(or light gold) and Ivory. I'm just not sure which way around to do it - I've heard of the Gallon, Pint, Quart rule - I'm not sure if my colour scheme is Pink/Brown/Champagne or Brown/Champagne/Pink.
Stuff we have (or decided) so far:
My dress is ivory
BMs dresses are champagne
DF's vest & tie will be ivory
Wedding Party's vest will be ivory, with pink/brown/champagne tie
Our sand ceremony sand is brown & pink
Ribbon for our bubbles & anything else I can stick it on is brown & gold
Save the Dates are pink & brown
Wedding Website is pink & brown

Video
We've decided on a videographer - we won't be booking until our date is confirmed, so I won't name them until we've booked! I will say though that I haven't heard about them on the DIS.

I think we're still set on Misty for our photography, so I'll be booking her also when we get our date.

Hi Kirsteen! How have you been?! Aww your signature photo is too cute! I can't believe he's here! I remember your PJ, you getting married, and coming on to tell us you were expecting. Time flies!


Booking our Date
We are 5 days away from booking! I can't believe how quickly it's come, although I have been not-so-patiently waiting for it to come around. We actually won't be around when our locations will be booked, which makes me a bit nervous We're allowed to book on Tuesday, and we're going camping Mon-Thurs. Hopefully I'll be able to check on my phone to see whether we've got our date and locations or not (cross fingers there's signal as the camping area is quite remote!) - Diane is great so I definitely have faith in her to book what we want. If I can get e-mail on my phone, then I'll e-mail our outside vendors once I find out to tell them we want to book our date, and sort out the contracts and deposits when we get back on Friday. I'm just waiting for our videographer's sample DVD, so I want to see that before we book anyway.

Shoes
I haven't bought anything yet, and I was just going to buy a cheap pair of shoes as no one will hardly see them under my dress. However, I was having real trouble finding some I actually liked. I know I wanted open toe shoes, not the pointy ones, but some with a very low heel as DF is only an inch or so taller than I am. Most open toe shoes have high heels, or it's more or less a flip flop.
However, I found these on the Debenhams website yesterday. They're by Faith and the style name is 'Dinarb'. I think they're perfect for what I need, but I probably won't buy them until Sept at least:

I was going to buy a pair of ballet type slippers too, to change into once the ceremony was over, but I'm not sure that I'll need to. The price isn't too bad - £50, and since I'm planning on buying a cheap-ish veil and don't think I will get a tiara, I think it's OK. Plus DF has got his wedding shoes and they were £50

I think these are DF's shoes. They're Jeffery-West Autograph by M&S - he wanted really shiny shoes and couldn't find any he liked anywhere else.

We found out today that we got our date!!

We are 11th August 2010, 10am Wedding Pavilion, 11-12 Cocktail Hour at Sonoma Room and 12-4 Reception at Napa Room. I think Sago Cay Point is also being held for us, but obviously we can't book it until 8months out.

I had no idea that we'd be able to sign our LOA now and pay the deposit. Before going for our site visit, we thought we'd be booking WHR which is 8months. So I'd budgeted our funds so that we were paying our outside vendor deposits now, and then saving again until December to pay our deposit. I'm feeling very stupid! We can still hold until Dec, but same as 8month locations our reception venue could be bumped by convention (our WP time is safe). We've decided that we are able to pay our deposit as soon as October though so all is not lost! Hopefully I'll get the ball rolling on booking our outside vendors (photo, video, make-up...) tomorrow and we'll pay our deposits as planned I was just having a mini panic earlier (sorry in advance for the message Torsie!)

I'm planning on also booking our MK Shoot soon, so I'm looking at who to request. I'm still unsure about it, but better safe than sorry and at least we'll have a slot. I'm looking at Friday 13th, so 2 days after the wedding

I am just a tiny bit excited at the moment

I just needed to work out a few things in my head! We are planning on signing the LOA early October This is when we were hoping to book our room at Disney too, so hopefully this will work out better for us. We can't book our flights until Sept/Oct and we don't want to book hotels before we book flights!
