PJ - 11 AUG 2010 - WP/Napa/Sago Cay - New Updates!

Hello all! I am new to these boards. There is so much information here. Our wedding will be on the Disney Wonder on Oct 10, 2010! We are very excited!! It seems like a long time until Oct, but time will fly by (I hope!)

Sorry I haven't updated much!! It's just been really busy at work and we've been snatching moments to plan the wedding where we can!

We've done a bit in the last month though!
Dress Bought (!!)
Shoes Bought
Groomsmen's suits & vests chosen and fitted
Flights Booked
Airport Hotel Booked
Wilderness Lodge Booked
Sheraton Four Points Booked
Parents Hotels & Flights Booked
Transport in Orlando Booked
Welcome Bags halfway sorted!!
Newsletters finished and mailed
New Website up and running
Finished and sent my Powerpoint thing for Planning Session (as it's a phone session)

Our Planning Session with Ken is now on the 16th, and we've found out that our Floral Manager is Elizabeth Motoc and our session with her is on the 18th - so next week will be a very exciting week!

And since I've been really bad at updating with photos, I went a bit snaphappy and took photos of our junk  I do have photos of me in the sample dress, but I don't think I'll post them up yet!!

Not sure if I'll wear these on the day (reception) or just on the holiday:

Save the Dates & Invites
Disney have sent out the Save the Dates to our guests! We were quite impressed when we saw them:

I haven't ordered our invites yet. We're hoping to get them from Cards and Pockets. The only thing that's annoying me is the postage cost - $50! No way does it cost $50 to send enough stuff to make 10 invitations! We want to get the Vertico style pocketfold in Bronze, with a Rose invitation mat, and Champagne invitation (all metallic). Hopefully the inserts will be on Champagne metallic too, as will the invitation and RSVP envelopes. I might try and find a place in the UK that does something similar.

It will open like this (and the envelope is champagne):

We're going to emboss the design (I think the swirly castle image) on the invites and our names. We might also emboss the headings on the inserts ('Reception', 'RSVP', etc.) and the addresses on the outer envelopes. We gave it a try with some paper we bought locally and it turned out quite well - Thanks pezaddict!!!

(Super bad photo!)

More next post...

Welcome Bags
We've been collecting stuff to go into the guests' welcome bags. We've bought plain totes like these on Ebay as we couldn't find any nice ones for a good price (Oriental Trading has some lovely ones but no UK shipping), and we're going to print our own design/logo on them (which needs to be done):

In them will be a Welcome Folder:

In these will be a Welcome Letter, Wedding Day Info & Transport Itinerary, Our Itinerary & Contact Details, Guest's personal itinerary (ADRs, etc), Fun Facts & Tips, Hidden Mickeys, Our Favourites sheet, and whatever else we think up! Also some leaflets of WDW/Orlando attractions and eateries:

Then in the bag, we'll have 2 bottles of water, a big bag of chips and a box of granola bars so they'll have snacks when they arrive, as well as chewing gum. Also:

There will be 2 Music CDs. 1 of Disney Music, and 1 of Music from our Wedding. We've only done 1 Design so far, but haven't burnt any off:

Any other ideas what to put in there?! We'd like to put a few more things in!

This is the Welcome Bag Box where everything is kept, along with some wedding magazines and important docs:

Misc.
Not sure what to do with these now that we're probably having a petal toss. Either put them in welcome bags, put them at the reception or at after party:
25012010121.jpg

Ribbon will be tied at the top of each one.

These are going to be at the Dessert Party and I'll get more closer to the time!

Sand for the Sand Ceremony. We have 2x Pink and 2x Brown. I'm not sure if I'll just ask DFTW if I can hire 3 vases for the ceremony. No point lugging it back on the plane as it'll only get mixed up in the case:

I bought these at the Disney Outlet last year as we'll be Castaway Club members this time as it's our 2nd Cruise. Down from around $12 to 99c!

And last but not least, AP Vouchers!!

Bargains!
I think I'm an Ebay Bride

I was just browsing about Ebay after Torsie told me about her crystals. I decided to see if 'my' shoes were there, since I've never seen a pair on Ebay. These were the Faith ones I wanted and they'd been discontinued from the shops. Imagine my surprise when I saw a pair in my size! They were £50 ($100) in Debenhams, and I would have paid that much had I found them. These were £5 to bid on, or £15 ($30) buy it now, plus £4p&p. I didn't want to be greedy and chance it so I bought them for a grand total of £19 ($38), and now am the proud owner of these:

Cross fingers everything will be OK with them arriving, and that they'll fit and that the dress length will be OK with them (I've ordered a 3inch shorter hem)

I also bagged a bikini (new!) on Ebay that has 'Just Married' on the bottoms. It was only £5 with postage so I grabbed it.

Lastly, I bought a hoodie that I've wanted for ages!! It's a Victoria's Secret 'Sexy Little Bride' one - they were $50 on the VS website, and they're selling for £50 ($100) on Ebay from America. I managed to find one from an UK seller that I got for £6.99 ($14) including p&p! It's arrived and it's fab!

Lastly, Weight Loss!! My most recent weigh in was this morning and I've lost so far 35lbs (2.5st) - I'm really pleased with that. Here is a photo of me a couple of weeks ago with the jeans I wore for my very first Weight Watchers meeting in May 2009. My leader wants me to be in the local paper as advertisement to bring others in  It's a phone pic Els took so sorry it's bad quality!!

image195.jpg

I'm inspired by Torsie and her hotfix crystals so I'm hoping to make some t-shirts/bikinis to wear on honeymoon if I have the patience and time!!

OMG you are the most organised person on earth!!!!!! I just love all your stuff! And I can't believe how much weight you have lost - well done! You look fabulous!

OMG HAYLEY!! You look fantastic!!! That is really something to be proud of!! Look at those jeans!!

I love everything you posted and reminded me to get glow sticks for the kids for the Dessert Party!!

I also love the Remember the Magic CD's...also made me remember one of my favorite parades at MK :(

Thanks girls :) I'm really pleased with the weight loss! I've been wanting to do it for years and I think the wedding has really given me an incentive. Those are the only pair of jeans I've kept since losing weight, and I've kept them just to remind me how far I've come! If my leader puts me in the paper, I'll post it up! She wants more young people to join as a result so it would make me really happy to have inspired someone!

We haven't put any music on the CDs yet - we're going to one with our wedding music, and one with general Disney/park music. What's the bet that I'm the only person that will listen to them

I'm only pretending to be organised - I'm a quivering, nervous mess

You look amazing! Great job on the weight loss, you should be sooo proud of yourself! And it would be so cool to be in an ad, you should totally do it!

Love all the pictures! Those flip flops are too cute. I'm sorry the shipping is so much for cards and pockets, they're materials are really good quality. Maybe you can find another site that sells the same supplies but is closer to where you live?

Great job on the embossing! I think it will look great! Definitely do a test run with the castle graphic before you buy the invitation material. I had thought of doing it that way but the graphic didn't come out as sharp as I had hoped. I hope you are able to get it to work because I think it would look really nice.

I love the CDs! Did you buy a special kit for the labels? I was going to just order labels but now DF wants to do a double CD set so the printed ones might cost too much now. I really like the way yours turned out!

Very cute Bride hoodie and what a bargain! Looking forward to hearing more, and don't worry, I'm starting to freak out a little too! I just feel like the wedding will be here before we know it, but that's so exciting too!

Thanks for the tip Sara - I've been meaning to test it out, but haven't done it yet! Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and order from C&P, UK Shipping sucks :(

FFIL had a kit for the CDs - TBH I'm not quite sure how it works as DF designed the CD and printed them. I think there was some software that came with it for you to design it.

I'm glad that you're feeling the stress too!! (Well, you know what I mean!) Isn't it coming close now?! What date are you setting off for WDW?!

I think as long as you're careful and maybe have a small paintbrush or something to brush away the excess powder it may work better. I also find if I wipe the sheet first with a dryer sheet the powder falls off a little more easily.

Lol, no problem, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a kit. At least now I know it comes out nice!

Oh I definitely am! It's getting so close now and there's still so much to be done. We're getting there on 8/14, late morning. I am very excited for the trip!

Thanks, if I can do it, you definitely can!!

I think we will just about miss you Sara! We are leaving WL on the 14th around 12pm for International Drive, but will be back in AKL on the 21st!

I've found an UK company that does some similar stuff for great prices so have ordered some samples!

Aww, I think we will just miss each other. Our flight only gets in at 10:30 am so by the time we get to Disney and check in you'll probably have already left. Are you going to the new Harry Potter World? I really wanted to but we just couldn't find the time, but maybe I can live vicariously through you. Be sure to post lots of pictures!

I'll have to confess that I don't like Harry Potter - but will have to go as FBIL's Fiance loves it and has already threatened to drag me there, so will no doubt have lots of photos!

Small Updates :)
The last of our reservations are made!! We can now finally say that our wedding/honeymoon stands like this:
5th August - Manchester Airport Travelodge (Rockstars!)
6th - 10th August - Disney's Wilderness Lodge (standard)
10th - 12th - Disney's Grand Floridian - Royal Palm Club (Main Building)
12th - 14th - Disney's Wilderness Lodge (standard)
14th - 21st - Sheraton Four Points Orlando - Sinatra Suite
(17th - 18th August - Universal's Royal Pacific Resort)
21st - 22nd - Disney's Animal Kingdom - Kilimanjaro Club
22nd - 26th - Disney Wonder 4 Night Bahamian (veranda stateroom)
26th - 30th - Disney's Animal Kingdom - Kilimanjaro Club

That's a lot of packing  We decided to splurge on Club Level for AKL in the end, rather than opt for DxDDP as we figured we'd probably be sick of eating by then! I'll also be on the lookout for a code that we can hopefully add to our booking.

ADRs
We've made some of our ADRs:
7th Aug - Le Cellier (lunch)
8th Aug - T-REX (dinner)
9th Aug - Whispering Canyon Cafe (welcome dinner)
10th Aug - Biergarten (dinner)
12th Aug - Kona Cafe (breakfast); Teppan Edo (dinner)
13th Aug - Sci Fi Dine In (lunch); 50s Prime Time (dinner)
14th Aug - Chef Mickey's (breakfast)

Those are the ones that our families will be with us, so we wanted to choose ones that would be quite reasonably priced (or 1TS credit), and that you wouldn't really get in the UK.

I've also made a reservation this morning for 22nd Aug for breakfast at Boma, before we leave on the cruise.

I need to make some reservations when they open for when we come back:
26th Aug - Sanaa (lunch)
27th Aug - Flying Fish (dinner)
28th Aug - Boma/Jiko (dinner)
29th Aug - Kona Cafe/Citrico's (dinner)
I'm not really sure yet how much 2TS we want to eat at - I think it just depends on our spending money. Flying Fish is a must, and even though we've been wanting to eat at Citrico's for ages, we're doing a lot of stuff as it is on this trip so I might just one or two ADRs instead of one for each night.

Welcome Bags
I also bought some mini hardback notebooks yesterday in the same colours as the welcome folders to go in the bags, and got mini photo albums (brag books?) that will either be photo albums (but with a cover with our logo) or similar to what Andreah did with information. I don't have as much patience or creativity as Andreah so will most likely be mini photo albums!

that is an awful lot of packing! i couldn't convince df to do two resorts during our stay let alone anything else!

you will have packing down to a fine art by the time you get home!

so exciting that everything is booked!

 I know, I hate packing! We're going to leave most of our luggage in my parents' room at WL when we go to GF save us taking it and bringing it back; just pack an overnight bag for RPR; and hopefully AKL will keep most of our luggage when we go on the cruise and we can get away with taking a case between us!!

I think we might have 5 cases between us - and with only 4 arms, that spells disaster!!

Lol I thought we were staying at a few hotels, but WOW! I seriously love it! You get that the chance to experience so many different Disney resorts!! YAY!!

Wow, I just read your whole PJ! Amazing weightloss, many kudos to you! Great ebay finds as well! I was able to find some sexy little bride tank tops at the VS outlet last year and I was super excited because those things are way over priced! Glad you were able to get the hoodie for such a great price I'm jealous lol. Love the Maggie dress too.
