Thanks Tammy
pezaddict - I'd asked her back in February whether anyone else was down and it was just me. When we were discussing back-ups she told me 2 other couples were interested, but didn't specify whether it was Pavilion or not. I asked about 11th and 10th August and she said they looked better, so we just wanted to totally make sure we got everything we wanted. Maybe it was busy as the 12th is a Thursday and people wanted the last day before the minimum went up for the weekend? Good luck on getting 17th!!
OK, UPDATE - I GOT BRIDESMAID DRESSES!!
Now this is top secret, kay?! You can't tell my guests where I got these badboys from. That's right! Ebay!! I'm paying for all the bridesmaid dresses myself, I think that's usual in the UK, at least where I'm from! So I didn't want super expensive dresses that I could use the money for other things. I'd been looking at Debenhams, Coast, Monsoon online and all the bridesmaid dresses I'd seen that I'd liked were £100+ each. I've already asked my 2 best friends to be bridesmaids, but I'd like a third and £300+ for dresses was not something I wanted to do.
Enter Ebay. 3 Dresses, 1 Auction: £40 for the lot. Done. The dresses were originally bought at Debenhams and would match in with our theme. That's £13.30 per dress!!! Am I really a cheapskate?! I really hope they fit and they like them!
This is the dress, it end just below the knee:
These are my lovely bridesmaids! Here we are on the Eiffel Tower on my 21st Birthday:
We've also booked suits for everyone for the wedding, and for the party when we get home. DF has chosen a black tailcoat, with the black pinstripe trousers. He wants a ivory vest and ruche tie, but hasn't chosen them yet.
This isn't the exact suit, but he will look something like this, except with less grey hair and a different vest and tie:
We also went to Goldsmiths to have a look at wedding rings whilst we were there. Els has decided he wants a 6mm Palladium band, but we are waiting until Jan to get them as it's not a legal requirement to stamp palladium at the moment in the UK, so want that legislation to come through!
What he wants:
I tried on this one, which I loved, but it's a bit more than I wanted to spend on a ring. I might have to think about it though, as it's something I'll wear forever:
I was going to get this one from Blue Nile, where my e-ring is from:
I had also tried on 'my' dress in a shop near me in light gold - they also have a branch in this town, where the dress is available in ivory so I decided to have a look to see if I liked it. I didn't have an appointment and they're usually busy, so I just wanted to see what the dress looked like in ivory. Noone was in the shop when I went in, so the lady asked if I wanted to try it on - uh, do I?!!
OMG, IT'S THE ONE! IT'S THE ONE! I know it is!! I loved the light gold, but when I put it on in the ivory I just got a lump in my throat!
