Pizzafari at AK...CLosed for refurb?

I just found out from other sources that it closed during 8/24 - 10/19...I am soon bummed!!

This is one of our fav' quick service places to eat..Love their pizza and salad and it was a forever tradition for us to eat there for lunch while in AK!!

I have never been to other QS places in AK...Does anyone have suggestions of good places to eat in AK for lunch?

I am sure it is..but my problem is ...that i am going to Trail's End for dinner that night...Got enough BBQ to fill my stomach for that day!! This is why i wanted PIZZA and salad for lunch!!!!

It really makes me boiling they closing this....I am already bummed missing Liberty Tree, Pirates, and Primeval Whirl closing for refurb!!!!

How can you be boiling about a refurbishment that is due? I'm sorry you are disappointed, but it had to be done during someones trip.
How about Yak & Yeti counter service? It gets good reviews.

It just a vent~~~ Of course, i understand there are times there are refurbs..I get it...Just bummed during my trip that all. Relax!!
I just merely want suggestions what other fans would do. Not to be lecture on!

Not a lecture at all - just an observation. Relax!!! Just seemed a bit over the top in the bigger picture of things.

Does anyone know, because of Pizzafari is closed, will AK be serving Pizza anywhere else in the park? Looking at other AK menus, they all seems to be BBQ, or meats served.

One reason I love Pizzafari, and the OP might too, is that it's indoors and air conditioned. I like Flame Tree BBQ, but rarely eat there becaue it's outside. Likewise, Yak and Yeti QS. Restaurantasaurous is the only other indoor QS option I can think of. I'm so glad now that I chose to try the Yak and Yeti TS on my next trip.

Agreed!! You do get cool relief at Pizzafari!! Someone told me that Yak and Yeti QS is outdoors...only the restaurant TS is indoors..IS this true??

Yes the yak and Yeti Quick service is outdoor. You have to go far in the back to have shading places.

just as i thought...so really...there are no INSIDE QS restaurants available during the Pizzafari refurb!! That's not good!

I don't understand why Disney decided on the hot weather dates to do this refurb...It would have been smarter to do this in the winter months!!!

Restaurantosaurus has indoor seating.

Maybe check out an online menu for the (relatively) brand new Harambe Market. However, it has outside seating. Another option is to look at a menu for the Yak & Yeti table service. Air conditioned and incredible theming. Possibly share 2 entrees and an appetizer, etc if you are a family with kids. You should make a ressie for Yak & Yeti. Good luck!

We liked Restaurantasaurus. The food isn't exciting by any means, but it was good. The theming of the restaurant is fun, has plenty of seating, and it's air conditioned.

Thanks all for the advices. It just throws us off about this refurb. I had set plans and even rotated FP around it as well. I deal with it with it somehow!!

OH NO, we love Pizzerfari and are going 8/26 thru 9/6. We always go there on our AK day. Last time I was in AK, I felt like I was going to melt and there are very few places to cool off in. I agree 100% with you, why close when it's so hot when this is one of the only CS to eat at that you can
cool off in. Thinking of skipping AK this year, it's just too hot.

Maybe I was hot, starving and delusional when I went in June but it didn't seem like it needed a refurbishment to me.

I read that the refurbishment is related to a TS location being added on to Pizzafari to help with increased demand for restaurants once Avatar/Pandora opens up, not because it was run-down.

What is it that it seems that AK is hotter than other parks?? Or is it just me??

I am re-thinking of skipping AK also...My hubby and i are not happy with the restaurant choices without Pizzafari and it is indeed would be hot too. I guess we will make a decision when i get there!
