We just had our first trip to DL in early May. It was awesome! And we loved Pizza Press! It was fun and yummy! We actually got pizza there three times, twice was a later night night, once was dinner. My DD25 and I shared it on the snack nights, and on the dinner night we each got our own. We always finished so I'm surprised other PP's had left overs on the one pizza between 2 or 3 people.
The pizzas are definitely smaller than any medium size, here in my area, anyway. Actually, they are 10" pizzas(med here are 12-14"), and they have a small that is 6" size. So you start down on the one end, the Pizza 'Press' area, they flatten a pre-made ball of dough, then you choose your toppings, sort of like you do at subway. The sausage and mushroom, chopped bacon, and pepperoni. All were good, even the ones I just watched them make, lol. They also had a few different cheeses. Including, I think it was a non dairy one that someone ordered, they asked if it was allergy or preference, so they seem to take that into account if needed. They had red, white, and an olive oil base to choose. Once you've dressed your pizza, they cook the pizzas 4 minutes. Once I had them cook it more like 5-6 to crisp it a bit more. They box them down at the 'publishing' end of the counter where you pay. They also have some salads and drinks in a cooler to grab, and some desserts, as well. Also, bottled water, milk, soda, beers and wine.
It's located on Harbor blvd almost across from the entrance to the park. It's just past the Tropicana, in the driveway into the lot for the Carousel Inn. Definitely saw plenty of locals, as well as Disney visitors there. I bet they have pretty steady business all the time!
I thought it was a really good pizza and a pretty good deal, particularly the nights we had it as a snack, lol. I can't wait till we can go back, wish we didn't have to wait two years! I was gonna say a 10, but I do have a fave pizza here that's a 10, so I'd say a 9, lol! They were all really nice and friendly there, too.
Earl of Sandwich, in DTD right before the
Disneyland hotel, is awesome! And the prices are pretty good for a good sized sandwich! We went there three times too, lol. Hmm. We were there 8 days, ate there arrival and departure day, and one night for late dinner when something else didn't work out. The Panera is there now, though I guess I don't think of it as cheap, but it's good.
