Pizza Planet Review?

It's basically Digiorno pizza. It tastes EXACTLY the same, looks EXACTLY the same. At least when we ate there a few years ago. I'm telling you.. it was personal size digiorno frozen pizza.

Honestly speaking, i have never been to pizza planet but many of my friends go there frequently and they tell me that the food there is really very tasty and awesome. I have always heard very good reviews about it from my friends , so i am also planning to taste the food at pizza planet

First, a disclaimer: I am all about the Alien from Toy Story. When I saw they had a Pizza Planet, I knew I had to eat there (only been to WDW once, for my honeymoon); when I saw in pictures that they had the aliens hanging from the ceiling, it was sealed.

Then...I got there. If you are really into Toy Story, the restaurant itself is a huge disappointment, theming-wise. Sure, there are some arcade games (none really good), but the place looks nothing like Pizza Planet from the movie - it looks like a converted warehouse of some sort. The aliens hanging from the ceiling, look decent in pictures, but up close are really.....odd. It looks like they've been stretched, and sort of like their head is disconnected from the body. Fairly creepy. Also, as a fan of Toy Story (and again, specifically the alien), I found the lack of a rocket-shaped crane machine filled with aliens a huge letdown. It would be so easy for Disney to pull this off, it being the centerpiece of the experience at Pizza Planet from the movie, but again, nothing.

The pizza is the exact same stuff you get at the resorts, Pizzafari, etc. Basically a thick crust with some thin sauce slathered on top and a tiny bit of cheese/pepperoni - not any better in quality than a DiGiorno at best.

Overall: I was highly disappointed and walked out without having eaten there, having already experienced the pizza at our resort and Pizzafari (and knowing exactly what to expect of it). I think with a little bit of attention by Disney, Pizza Planet would have the ability to be an excellent restaurant and an attraction in and of itself, but it would certainly take a refurbishment and some theming to make it so. As others said, if you are just looking for a place to eat - the pizza won't kill you, but don't expect it to be any kind of great experience, either from the food or the theming.

I'm leaning toward skipping it and just going to Downtown Disney earlier to get some dinner before shopping.

I think the theme is really cute being that it's from toy story, but pizza in WDW has never been very good. I would say the pizza is def. geared towards kids w/ a sweet sauce & the crust is really heavy for me. The only pizza I will not eat is Chuck E. Chesses & sadly it reminds me of that only not quite as bad. I mean, I live on pizza lean pockets & think they r much better...so...what does that tell ya? = ) On the bright side I hear Epcot's finally got a new pizza place in Italy. Not sure of the details but we might check it out.

Yes. That's it! DiGiorno!!! Which is gross, lol!!!!

On a nice note WDW has meatball sandwiches that are pretty good.

We just ate here for the first time in October. DH and I grabbed a pepperoni pizza as a pre lunch snack and we both said the exact same thing : it was edible, Nothing much more than that though.

We skipped this one for the first time this year. WE are in the minority -we actually like the food-but the incredible shrinking portions have turned us off. The kids meal doesnt' begin to fill up either on of my boys and the adults is shrinking too so there isn't much to supplement with
