I read on another thread that Papa John's will deliver pizza to the front desk at the Fort. We don't eat Papa John's so is there another company that delivers to the Fort instead? Pizza sounds like an easy way to do dinner our first night.

why not order one from Crocketts, then pick it up? they are pretty good pie's

They are, but depending on how many, Papa John's and Pizza Hut seem to always have great deals. I do think I have scene Pizza Hut there too. We always just do the Trails End, it is good and 2 cover us and the price is not bad.

I've read that the pizza at the Fort isn't that great; cardboard was mentioned a lot.... That's why I'm looking for something else.

OFF-SITE PIZZA DELIVERY, until about 3:00am:
1) Giordanos, (407) 397-0044
2) Westgate Pizza Hut, (866) 438-2507
3) Papa Johns, (352) 243-1800
4) Flipper's Pizza, (407) 938-9633 (Best in our opinion)

OFF-SITE PIZZA DELIVERY TO RESORT ROOMS:
1) At Deluxe resorts & FW, pizzas are delivered to Front Desk or Bellmen.
2) At other resorts, deliveries usually go to the room.
3) At DVC resorts, the deliveries almost always to the room.

DANGER-DANGER-DANGER:
1) You might find a pizza "flyer" under your door.
2) Do no under any circustances call them.
3) There have been scams for these.
. . . you call, order pizza, give credit card number.
. . . you don't get pizza, but they have your CC number.
. . . you find find fraudulent charges later.

After going to the Fort too many times to count, we finally broke down in March and ordered a pie from Crockett's. Yuck. We were not impressed......and we had a couple of glasses of wine and we were VERY hungry.

Here we go again. :lmao:

Tastes like fresh baked cardboard.

Scupper, thanks for posting those listings of pizza approved locations. The non-chain names are particularly important if they carry the "Rusty Scupper" seal of approval.

One thing I did notice, though, is the Papa Johns location listed is not the one I have used - the listed one comes up in Clermont, Fl. :confused3 and one had the phrase "Westgate" which is used to describe Hwy 192/Kissimmee locations. The WDW property is so huge that all the resorts probably aren't served by the same chain location unless the chain has a location in WDW.

All three chain locations that serve the Fort address (4510 North Fort Wilderness Trail, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830) and I mean Papa Johns, Domino's, and Pizza Hut are closest served by locations out near Hwy 535 in Lake Buena Vista. When you go to dominos.com, papajohns.com, or pizzahut.com and type in the Fort address for delivery, they all give the nearest store as out near Hwy 535 or near Palm Parkway which is a major intersection to Hwy 535.

For Dominos, the closest location using the above Fort address as the delivery address (they will come to the checkin building) is:

8542 Palm Parkway 407-239-1221

For Papa Johns, the closest location using the above Fort address as the delivery address (they will come to the checkin building) is:

11989 South Apopka Vineland Road 407-477-7777

For Pizza Hut, the closest location using the above Fort address as the delivery address (they will come to the checkin building) is:

8699 Palm Parkway 407-239-0205

Chain might run specials as others said. Independants survive because they offer a great product. All I ask is that you tip your driver generously.

Bama Ed

PS - since the OP mentioned this pizza might be for the first/arrival night, we often get the Giddyup And Go take out dinner from Trails End first night (lovingly referred to in our family as the "Gag"). It has 10 pieces of fried chicken, choice of 2 sides from (mac/chees, baked bean, mash spuds, fries - my list may be old), and some big pieces of corn bread. It is PLENTY of food for 4 folks and enough for 5. It costs about $25. It's another idea to put in your hip pocket. 2 pizzas cost me about $25 for my family of 5 so I figure I'm doing well to get out at $5 per head.

Thank you both for the detailed info.

That Gag sounds pretty good. When I was looking at Allears I didn't realize that it came with all those sides. This sounds even better than pizza.

Love the "Gag"! Tasty chicken and pretty good sides. I have some Cajun spice from Tony Chechers (sp) I keep in the trailer and sprinkle on my chicken from there and it is good if you like spicy chicken or fries.

Many great options at the Fort!!

Richard

OnlyDisney, here is the Trails End takeout menu from my trip this past April. Looks like the sides are slaw, fries, mac/cheese, and mash. Pizza is also listed here.

Thanks Bama Ed! You always have the answer.

A question about the mac & cheese side. Is it served warm? Just wondering because when we purchase something similar to the Giddyap and Go near our house the mac & cheese side dish comes cold and we have to heat it up at home.

Was looking at the TE menu that Bama Ed posted, the refillable mugs are 15.49, does anyone know how much it is to refill the mug? Might consider getting 1 or 2 if the price is right.

111 days till our trip to the Fort!

It's warm mac & cheese. Same stuff they serve on the TE dinner buffet. It's very good. If you have any left over I'll eat it!:cool1:

Once you pay the big chunk of money for the mug, all refills at the Fort are free. (sodas, coffee, hot tea, etc).

Supposedly they have some little chip in them to prevent you from using the "mug-you-bought-five-years-ago" instead. It supposedly won't flow. I dunno. Never bought them - someone else I'm sure has current info.

Bama Ed

PS - snowmedic, if you are considering getting one of these for your 30-day visit, it would DEFINITELY pay for itself. Disney management might think you hacked the system because you would use it so long, LOL! Every morning you can get a hot refill over to the Meadow TP with both mugs while you get your day going. I've sat on the Meadow porch reading the newspaper watching people go in with empty mugs and come out with coffee mugs. I know you could make it at the site, but that's not as much fun...

PPS - new article came out tonight. Chip mugs had been TESTED but not IMPLEMENTED. Now coming soon with slightly different pricing.

We LOVE mac and cheese in this house! Well, me and the kids anyway. There won't be a drop left and there's a good chance one of us might even lick out the container.:rolleyes1

1) I have found out, also, the property is too large for one franchise location.
. . . there are several Papa Johns
. . . there are three (known) Giordano's
2) However, if you call the number listed, they transfer you to the right branch.
3) As you have said, sometimes there are 3-4 locations that serve WDW.
4) Trying to coordinate the right franchise to the right resort is too tough.

NOTE: The numbers given are the numbers we keep behind the Concierge Desks.

This is a little off topic but thought someone might know- are the "take-out" things at trails end (such as the 2 pc. chicken dinner) considered full-service or quick service on the dining plan?

QS, any of the single serve takeouts are quick service. Unless they've changed it.
