Pizza Box Circle- Question on pg 36

Well we've looked at some more options as regular mail wouldn't accept it. fedex wanted almost $200 - HA! UPS a little more reasonable at $140 but still, nada - no way! We've now found that Parcel Force will deliver it for $80 but it will take a month to reach you guys, next step up is $100 which they eastimate is 5 days so we're hopefully doing that tomorrow.

OH is fuming and saying (and he's right if I'm honest) that it just wasn't worth it for 30ish sheets of paper. As such I'm gonna have to opt out of the embellishment box, with all we're saving for, posting incredbly weighty boxes to the USA just aint in our budget LOL!

With the dollar/pound ratio so bad I would say that it is not worth it to mail but I hate to see you miss out.

Guys I have a question.
1) Should we just leave the paper box in England to share with our British sisters and start a new one stateside (AWM and I have plenty of paper) or

2) help Queenie get the box here and then help again to get the embellishments box here.

I think we should leave it in England if Queenie and Mazda can find a use for it. I also have enough paper for about half a pizza box myself. That price is just insane! Can you shuffle the order so the embellishment box can stay with them also?

they are already on the list to get the embellie list last. I was just having it mailed here to start it again.

AWM has a ton of paper she is willing to send me and since she is almost last on the list there should be new paper by the time it gets back to her.

thanks for the offer Diana but I can send it flat rate for $37.00 which I thought was really reasonable. It's to bad they don't have that option there.

Do either Mazda or Queenie have a trip to the states in the next year? Or is anyone going to Britain? It seems like the best way to get it back to the states, if ever, is in luggage. And then those guys would know they would have room for souvenirs and craft stuff for the way back home.

I take that back, Queenie will be in Vegas in 2 months. I'm not sure how anyone would feel about waiting 2 months and I don't know how it would work with customs.

I would say start a new paper box and if someone from England wants to bring it this way at some point that is fine but if not just start a new one instead of sending it over.

I'll happily bring it with me to Vegas if you like. OH has forgotten to take it to the post office today (how I don't know - it's covering half the sofa!) Customs should be fine with it, there's nothing illegal in the box so providing they can open it and check they won't care, I'd just say it was a gift for a friend. Only problem will be actually posting it as we're not going to have a car until the last day in Vegas when we're driving to L.A and setting off very early. Anyone live in Vegas who can tell me if there's a post office near the Stratosphere? I'd just have to check my luggage allowance to get it into the States, it should be ok but as we're not having a washing machine this year (aaargh!) I'll be carrying more clothes than usual in.

How can they justify charging so much for postage!!!!!! It's not like we're asking them to carry it a sheet at a time

Queenie, check your luggage allowance - I think you're still OK for 2 cases each at 23kg to the States, so one for you and one for the paper You can then buy new clothes when you get there to put in the empty case - remember, with cheaper clothes anyway and a good $ to £ you're saving money - which means the clothes don't really cost anything and your holiday is actually costing less! Well, that's my view of economics anyway DH doesn't agree Seriously, although trainers are now generally the same price (unless you get super-exclusive or there's a good deal on ) jeans, t-shirts etc. do tend to be cheaper - I even got some blouses for work. I think theres a Premium Outlet in Las Vegas or nearby.
