I'm up in Cary so its about 2.5 hours away depending on where you are going to in Charlotte.

DH used to live in Charlotte and we have friends that used to live in Matthews. We are looking at moving to the Asheville area if DH can find work there.

My mom actually lives in Harrisburg and my dad in Charlotte over by UNCC. We moved there when I was in the 6th grade and I couldn't wait to leave. LOL I love it up here in the Raleigh/Cary area. My DH and I both came here for college and decided to stay. I've only been to Asheville a couple of times to go to the Biltmore House but its very pretty up there.

Harrisburg is one of the areas we are looking at! And Huntersville too, and a lot of places in and around Lake Norman. I hear the schools are good but really going through a growth spurt at the moment so we are waiting to see how that will all pan out.

Our friends in Matthews, her son went to Appalachia State and we had other friends in GA whose boys went to Chapel Hill. I love NC, you get the warmer weather, milder winter, but you still get season changes.

My mom and step-dad love Harrisburg. Harrisburg is in Cabarrus school district though and not Charlotte-Mech. My one brother and I went to Charlotte schools and had no problem. My other brother went to Cabarrus and my mom hated it and said they were horrible. My sister now goes to a private school for that reason however she has lots of friends in public school so it may have gotten better.

My one brother went to Appalachian and loved it. He's back in Charlotte now but I'm sure if he had a choice he would have stayed up there just jobs weren't that plentiful in what he wanted to do. I don't talk about UNC LOL being an NCState girl myself but I hear it is a good school depending on your degree. If you move this way you will see that you are not allowed to like both Carolina and State. Its just so not allowed you have to pick one or the other. hehe

Jenny.. this box is re-packed.. good luck.. when you open it.. it'll be like those cans of snakes that scare the stuffing out of ya! This thing is stuffed to the max..and I actually took some out of it.. I think for every thing I took out I added 2 things!

It got here yesterday. I actually opened it when I got home last night about 10 LOL before I headed to bed. It is jammed full of goodies for me to go through. It will be early next week before I can mail it back out though as I have something everynight this week and then I'm in Charlotte this weekend.

Hey guys, had a slight box crisis where it wouldn't shut!!! Some serious re-shuffling and a copious amount of brown packing tape seems to have fixed it. It will hopefully be on it's way tomorrow if OH gets out of work early enough to get to the post office. Buffy - I'll PM you once I have confirmation of postage.

Of course the box is now so heavy that British Airmail simply won't deliver it and neither will surface mail apparently... This could be a problem, will keep you posted ladies.
